On Monday, Rep. Dennis Kucinich made history on the floor of the House by reading 35 Articles of Impeachment against President George W. Bush.

At last!!!!!

We've waited years to find one Member of Congress brave enough to stand up for our Constitution, for which generations of Americans have fought and died. We are thrilled and honored that Dennis Kucinich has chosen to be that one genuine patriot.

(Caution: I usually set links to open in new window. These are imported links which will take you away from this page unless you right click and "Open in new window" -
Tim)

We congratulate him on his historic leadership, and pledge to do everything in our power to persuade the House to adopt all 35 Articles and put George W. Bush on trial before the Senate of the United States, exactly as the Founding Fathers wanted.

Of course, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA-8), Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-5), and Democratic Caucus Chair Rahm Emanuel (IL-5) all remain adamantly opposed to impeachment - despite the overwhelming evidence of High Crimes, including the "Phase II" report by the Senate Intellligence Committee and Scott McClellan's new book.

And when Rep. Robert Wexler (FL-19) called for Judiciary Committee hearings on Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Cheney in January, only 17 Democrats joined them: Neil Abercrombie (HI-1), Tammy Baldwin (WI-2), Michael Capuano (MA-8), Yvette Clarke (NY-11), Lacy Clay (MO-1), Steve Cohen (TN-9), Peter DeFazio (OR-4)(Yeah, Pete! - Tim), Keith Ellison (MN-5), Sam Farr (CA-17), Raśl Grijalva (AZ-7), Luis Gutierrez (IL-4), Barbara Lee (CA-9), Gwen Moore (WI-4), Jim Moran (VA-8), Mike Thompson (CA-1), Ed Towns (NY-10), and Lynn Woolsey (CA-6).

So Kucinich's heroic efforts will be in vain unless we inundate Congress with emails and calls (202-224-3121) showing our full support for Rep. Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your constant support throughout this long and historic struggle.

There are 146 days until the election.
There are only 20 Democrat Lunatics currently advocating impeachment of Cheney.
It takes 218 Democrat Lunatics to pass Articles of Impeachment.
There are 236 Democrat Lunatics in the House of Representatives.

That means that you guys better hurry up!

I hope Wexler’s proposal for Judiciary Committee hearings makes it into the Congressional Record, so that this small group moonbats can go down in crushing and humiliating defeat for all of history to mock and ridicule.

The Impeachment of William Jefferson Clinton, and the subsequent Senate Trial of William Jefferson Clinton, and the case of The United States Versus William Jefferson Clinton will be measured, juxtaposed to the imbecilic rantings of Wexler and Kucinich.

Clinton was put on trial for a freakin blow job! But you could only find 20 highly partisan Democrat congressmen who wanted to impeach Cheney. I’d say that doesn’t speak very highly for your case, in the Eyes of History.

by KenTX on 06/11/2008 05:52:21 PM EST

Of course, you are completely wrong about the importance of Clinton's case as opposed to how harshly history will judge this abandonment of responsibility by the Republicans and Democrats who swore to uphold the Constitution and have failed in their most basic duty.

Clinton will merely be a footnote. Constitutional experts will point at the Congressional failure to rein in an irresponsible and criminal President.

But if you read the other thread, you know already that those of us in support of America know this is too little too late - but you are correct in pointing out that it does separate the minority of true patriots in the House.

Pelosi should have been recalled as soon as she said impeachment was off the table.

Tim, we used to have a participant named SeattleJoe who swore that Congress would impeach Bush and Cheney. I laughed at him and mocked him at every opportunity.

In his mind, it was inconceivable that a president could flagrantly and openly violate the Constitution, and have Congress take no action. After Bill Clinton was put on trial in the Senate over a blow job, it was proven that a sitting president could easily be impeached whenever the opposition party achieves a majority of seats in the House.
When 20 of the farthest left, looniest Democrats get zero support from their congressional brethren, it means one of two things are true.
  1. Democrat lawmakers don’t care about the Constitution.
  2. Democrat lawmakers don’t believe Bush violated the Constitution.
Years from now, when liberals try to claim that George Bush violated the Constitution, there will be a very compelling case to the contrary.

"3" being the majority leader, in her infinite foolishness, proclaimed her priorities didn't include living up to her oath of office and the rest of them are following her political idiocy.

Thank goodness for the patriots. (No, NOT the New England ones, smartass!)

I'm with SeattleJoe, though. It should have been top priority.

Outside of the minimum wage, she hasn't passed a single piece of legislation. She is the most do-nothing Speaker in the history of Congress. No, you only have two choices. Bush is unimpeachable, or Democrats are unconstitutional.

by KenTX on 06/11/2008 11:17:56 PM EST

[ Parent ]

But it sure is nice to know that Ken firmly believes that either Conservatives are unconstitutional are that Clinton did absolutely nothing that rose to the level of removal from office and the only thing he did that warranted charges being filed was lie about getting a blowjob.

Big day of vinidication for Bill, huh?

there is a third choice. They are playing smart politics. Mr Fred sums it up pretty well here.

Heck, because of Bush, Dems are not only winning in battleground districts, they are winning in the Republican's back yards

Bush has been the gift that keeps on giving for the Dems and they are not going to throw that away.

That way they don't have to deal with a messy change of power right before the election and can avoid any chance for pardons and the like.

History is very clear that the Bush Administration was magnanimous in their offer to pardon William Jefferson Clinton for the many crimes he committed against the People of the United States of America.

Last week, in a Vanity Fair article, the husband of Clinton Administration spokesperson Dee Dee Meyers accused Clinton of recent nefarious behavior. Vanity Fair is a very liberal, pro-Democrat publication, and since the Reign of Clinton Terror is finally over in the Democrat Party, they feel free to finally tell the truth for the first time since 1992.

Rush Limbaugh reports that Bill Clinton was trying to pick up his date at the Kobe Club in New York less than a year ago.

1. There is nothing impeachable about the actions taken by Bush. He made "high speed mistakes" while prosecuting a war.
2. History (and the country) would frown on the party impeaching a wartime president.
3. It is very easy for the majority opposition to impeach a sitting president. Since the condition of divided government is the rule rather than the exception, every future president would be impeached for spitting in the Rose Garden.
4. FDR and Wilson and Lincoln shredded the Bill of Rights while prosecuting wars. Shit happens. Don't make me pull out examples.
5. Democrats want to win the White House. That's the objective. Not getting bogged down in a constitutional battle.

here we go.

"1. There is nothing impeachable about the actions taken by Bush. He made "high speed mistakes" while prosecuting a war."

There were no mistakes made. They knew what they were doing.

"2. History (and the country) would frown on the party impeaching a wartime president."

History will show that Bush was the worst president ever and The American people (and his own party) couldn't wait to get rid of him.

"3. It is very easy for the majority opposition to impeach a sitting president. Since the condition of divided government is the rule rather than the exception, every future president would be impeached for spitting in the Rose Garden."

If Clinton was doing such a bad job and pushing millions to vote for Republicans to the point where Charlie Rangel's seat was in jeopardy, do you think there would have been an impeachment? Stop acting stupid.

"4. FDR and Wilson and Lincoln shredded the Bill of Rights while prosecuting wars. Shit happens. Don't make me pull out examples."

Considered some of the darkest and most embarrassing days in our countries history, never again legislation always followed.  Expect to see new ones soon.

"5. Democrats want to win the White House. That's the objective. Not getting bogged down in a constitutional battle."

Thanks for the quote. Next time you make this idiotic argument I will ram it down your throat.

about impeachment and prosecution and sweeping legislation and blowout landslide victories make me laugh.

You guys need to start by winning a fucking presidential election first. Then you can talk big. Your record over the last 40 years is 3 out of 10. By historical measurement, the out party should gain power after eight years in the wilderness, but Democrats are doing everything possible to fuck that up.

You guys have certainly heard about the Michelle O'Bombashell story, but I haven’t seen any discussion on it. I would love to hear what the liberal blogosphere is saying about this story.

Bob Beckel was Walter Mondale’s campaign manager, and he’s a major Obama supporter.  Beckel says the story is something to worry about.  When Bob Beckel tells Democrats to worry, you’d better listen up.

The GOP reportedly has the tape. They don’t want to release it until September 1.

TYT’s Bestest Buddy In The Entire Universe, Larry Johnson, is leaking the story. At the risk of sounding unkind, I think everyone of you guys has offered to $@(% Larry’s (0@% at one time or another. But please note that I never used the word “vile”! I don't want zippy and fred shaking with anger.

Michelle reportedly made the “hate whitey” statement from the pulpit at Trinity United. This video will look great, juxtaposed with the Reverend Wright and Father Pflegler tapes.

I feel sorry the many downscale white voters in OH, PA, WI, MI, MO, NH, CO, IA, VA who will feel terribly insulted by this racial slur. I will be contributing to a 527 that will be running numerous public service announcements in those states in October, in order to promote the healing process.

Let the healing begin. May God Bless You.

I had only heard of this in passing. The link to Larry's blog caught me up.

He's been right before, can't argue with that.

If there is a tape, it'll be interesting to see what's on it. If it is as "disparaging" as the Rev. Wright crap, it is a weatherable storm.

you sound angry and that you word again. If that tape does exist and it is that damaging then I am sure Obama will step down.

Republicans are still stuck with that crypt keeper wind sock McCain. Thanks to Bush and people like you he is the only Republican with a chance.

What makes me smile is his "Maverick" title comes from his long history of stabbing his own party in the back for political gain and he is flip flopping all over the place right now so if he is elected, who knows what he will actually do?

I told you this was comming so don't get mad at me.

I've told you before, don't drink and post.

If the tape is released after the Democrat Convention, how is Obama gonna "step down"?

what are they going to say? Ohh we have a tape for months?

Give me a break.

Let's say KenTX has a copy of the Michelle Obama "I Hate Whitey!" tape in a locked vault in Texas.

I bought it from one of the Trinity United flock for $100,000.

I showed it to Rove and he flipped. He offered me two million bucks for it!

When will the GOP release the tape?

Before the Democrat Convention? Republicans would simply be giving the nomination to Hillary, which accomplishes nothing.

After the Democrat Convention? After African Americans have danced in the streets? After Barack gave a speech that brought tears to the eyes of Democrat faithful?

Democrats would simply miscalculate (again) that the tape won't have any impact. They'll stand by their man.

by KenTX on 06/12/2008 03:47:38 AM EST

[ Parent ]

If Karl Rove got this tape he would have kept it quiet and would wait to the last minute to spring it on everyone.

The longer they say they have it without showing anyone, the more BS it looks like.

We'll see what happens.
