Poll: I would never vote for (x)

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit

Ok, so I just wanted to do a quick gauge of what people think is the quality which would preclude them from ever voting for a presidential candidate. You can vote twice, as there are two parameters:

The first parameter deals with experience

The second parameter deals with beliefs

VOTE or DIE!

I might vote for any one of these, but it would depend on the person.  For example, a CEO of what company?  A theist of what faith in particular?  Jewish yes, Mormon maybe not.

really to gauge what you value and what you don't. Are you less likely to vote for a CEO, are you less likely to vote for a Christian? Obviously, I cannot, nor can anyone, give context to a non-existent candidate. Its only a broad gauge of what type of person you value and who you don't.

I think I am too willing to hope that even a CEO or Christian can have integrity.  Let's just say that I would rather NOT vote for an evangelical Christian.  That is probably the world view that most frightens me!!  (of these anyway).  There was a poll not too long ago showing that Americans are much more likely to vote for a gay president than an atheist.  Sort of sad, isn't it?

shows that even on a liberal forum, a homosexual can't get ahead while a Christian (possibly evangelical) can. YoungTurks do not want a Gay CEO obviously.

Maybe the voters here meant "Republican homosexual," which would definitely be someone I would never vote for!!!

Evangelical Christian by definition means a Chirstian who has dedicated their life to spreading Christianity.  Therefore as president that would have to be their top priority or we couldn't call them an evangelical Christian, right?

Although there does seem to be a growing environmental movement in the evangelical Christian community, they seem overly preoccupied with the return of baby Jesus and I think that is a bunch of dangerous nonsense.

Please, please tell me the three votes for "Atheist" are a joke?

Mark Twain and Kurt Vonnegut, while imperfect, would've been far better in the White House than the Christian George Bush.

And yes, of course I have and will continue to vote for theists...besides, what atheist could ever run for president and hope to win?

"A God who could make good children as easily a bad, yet preferred to make bad ones; who could have made every one of them happy, yet never made a single happy one; who made them prize their bitter life, yet stingily cut it short; who gave his angels eternal happiness unearned, yet required his other children to earn it; who gave is angels painless lives, yet cursed his other children with biting miseries and maladies of mind and body;

who mouths justice, and invented hell -- mouths mercy, and invented hell -- mouths Golden Rules and foregiveness multiplied by seventy times seven, and invented hell; who mouths morals to other people, and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all;

who created man without invitation, then tries to shuffle the responsibility for man's acts upon man, instead of honorably placing it where it belongs, upon himself; and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites his poor abused slave to worship him!"
