For those of you interested in the future of our society and how we will respond to the major 21st century challenges of peak oil and climate change this is an interesting website. It is basically an essay on potential futures of society as we adapt to these challenges. The author clearly has a more liberal perspective than I do and is a bit more pessimistic on the possibility of maintianing anything resembling the status quo.
Based on his framework I think we'll move somewhere between the browntech and greentech towards technosustainability with failure leading to the lifeboat collapse. I'm not so sure about the controlled decent based on "permaculture".&n bsp; I think there is too much entrenched power for things to decline peacefully.
