Bloomberg for VP?

Beware anyone saying Bloomberg's been an awesome NYC mayor without siting his some of his actions. He was in charge when:
* The NYPD went nuts on RNC demonstrators jailing 1800 for the entire convention in a bus garage.
* The police took extreme actions against anti-Iraq war demonstrators before and shortly after the war began. The NYPD jailed them, infiltrated them, abrogated their right of free speech, and prevented most of them from following their approved route.
* There was intense persecution of a group promoting bicycle riding in the City, Critical Mass, including infiltration by NYPD.
* Donnell Library was sold off to build a hotel in Midtown as well as hours severely cut back.
* Washington Square Park was renovated to prevent people from gathering to sing and play musical instruments at the central fountain.
* After losing interest in running for president, he immediately went to Albany to help out Republican state legislators.

My question, would it be McSame or Obama that would tap Bloomberg?

Stop talking about Bloomberg as a national political celebrity.  NO ONE GIVES A FUCK OUTSIDE OF THE TRI-STATE AREA.

If you polled everyone outside of a 200-mile radius of NYC on who Bloomberg was 10% might know, 50% would say "some jew" and the rest would sy the guy who directed E.T.

Really, I live in Texas and do you know how many times I have heard Bloomberg mentioned aside from political commentators on national TV and radio in my life?

Never! And I eat, breathe and sleep politics.  I am a social studies teacher.  We all sit around and talk elections and politics every day during breaks.  No one gives a damn about this guy anywhere but in the Northeast.

Listening to this non-story that won't die is like listening to a teenager talk about the local band at their high school like they are the Rolling Stones.  Its annoying.

Sorry, had to vent.

But the good news is you can rest easy, he isn't even on the long list for VP noms.  In fact, Obama isn't from the Northeast so he probably barely knows who Bloomberg is.  And Obama doesn't even need his money.

What the hell does Bloomberg bring to the ticket anyway? New York state?

Glad to hear it. He's no liberal and the farther he stays away from national office, the better.

Not one poster here seems to think this is a good ticket.

Although it would OWN the Sammy Davis Jr. demographic.
