Time Magazine has lost it's Marbles

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
Time Magazine is keeping a score card on the Presidential race. The Democrats have won three, but this week is different.

Obama and McCain are tied on energy and the environment.

"Gas prices are a national concern, but for the presidential candidates, it's not easy being green and addressing high costs as well. John McCain is vulnerable to charges of flip-flopping and parroting President George W. Bush on offshore drilling, while Barack Obama appearing insensitive to his prposals' potential economic costs."

John McCain won Iraq. (Bullsh*t, I know.)
"Obama's early, outspoken opposition to the Iraq war helped him capture the party's nomination- and at one point semeed likely to ensure him the White House as well. But favorable repoting by prominent news orginzations, including the New York Times on the Bush Administration's troop surge may bolster McCain- who supports the effort- and neutralize the Iraq issue."

WRONG. ERRR. Mark Halperin, you are LYING. You think America has 70% against Bush just because of taxes? You dumb little boy, it's because of the Iraq War! Are you too stupid enough to notice that people are dying over there?! McCain is FAR from winning! The Surge was a failure, and not even Fox News can change that. I overrule your vote, the Democrats win this round.

McCain won on image (AGAIN, WTF?!)

"In order to win, McCain must succeed where Hillary Clinton failed: by making Obama seem more like an ordinary politician then an inspiring leader. Obama's reversal on campaign financing and new tone on NAFTA, along with news that two Muslim woman in headscarves were moved out of camera range at a rally, left the Democrat with one of the most off-message weeks in his campaign."

You make me sick, Mark Halperin. At least Obama is more culturally rounded to ATTRACT the Muslims to his call for change. You couldn't even attract McCain's senior citizens.

Yes, I went there.

Burned. Another win for Obama.

Obama won on Resources this week.

"By rejecting public funds, Obama is expected to raise hundreds of millions of dollars and spend more on his presidential campaign then any candidate has before. He's already airing television ads in red states like Alaska and is considering pricey spots during the Olympics. Money isn't everything in politics, but this is one of Obama's biggest advantages."

He's getting these funds from people across America, not lobbyists and special interests like McCain.

Contrary to Mark Halperin's thesis, I declare the first week of July to the Democrats. Get your facts straight, little boy.

to be able to tell anymore. John Q. Public watches the news for maybe a half hour a day? Everybody is spinning the daily news cycle, so Mr. Public needs multiple news sources to gain any real semblance of footing. It's dizzying, and distracts from the real issues, which should be presented clearly and concisely, free of spin, for public consumption. The fact that there are many Americans who believe that Obama is Muslim proves it.

The news media is not our friend.

If you think this was bad, just wait. This was tame compared to what is to come. The key is not to lose one's composure

I recently read an article that indicates that McCain raised almost as much money as Obama did last month. What is important is how you spend it. Remember Obama was outspending Clinton 3 to 1 and losing in important states.

We should not be to arrogant or over confident. Dukakis, Gore and Kerry all had big leads early only to lose in November

Fortunately, there are other 2-3 other Democrats in the entire country who are as smart as him.

I fear that your warnings will fall on deaf arrogant ears here, my friend. People think the MSM is doing Obama wrong now are gonna be sorely shocked come the fall... The media is gonna frame this election to make it the most sellable for their advertisers. Nothing sells better than bringing people down, inciting racial overtones and otherwise wrecking a perfectly good issues debate with rumor, innuendo and scandal. Mark Halperin is only doing his job when he distorts the public mood/record with this tripe. When are you guys gonna realize this? A quote from one of my favorite movies of all time "The American President" - "Politics is Perception" It doesn't matter what the actual TRUTH is - it only matters what they can make you think the truth is!!! Thanks again for your help... :)

However, the good news is that I think ultimately McCain's people are worse at manipulating the media than Obama's are.  McCain does not have a Rove.

McCain does have a Rove.  He has the Rove .  They kissed and made up and now sounds like Rove is advising McCain:

"Ken Mehlman, who ran Bush’s 2004 campaign, is now serving as an unpaid, outside adviser to the Arizona Republican. Karl Rove, the president’s top political hand since his Texas days, recently gave money to McCain and soon after had a private conversation with the senator. A top McCain adviser said both Mehlman and Rove are now informally advising the campaign. Rove refused to detail his conversation with McCain."  Politico link

"We should be careful with the media?"  "Don't get cocky, don't think we've already got this in the bag?"  I totally agree with that.
