Hillary to Concede

Friday - Hillary throws herself behind Barack

I'm sure I'm not the first one to scramble for this post.  But I'm seeing it all over the news - Hillary is suspending her campaign on Friday and will endorse Obama.  'bout time.

I posed that question in the chat room when the news broke and I'm curious to hear the answer from Hillary's words and actions.

From the Free Online Dictionary:

Concede:
1. To acknowledge, often reluctantly, as being true, just, or proper; admit. See Synonyms at acknowledge.
2. To yield or grant (a privilege or right, for example).
v.intr.
To make a concession: yield:

Suspend:
2. To cause to stop for a period; interrupt: suspended the trial.
3.
a. To hold in abeyance; defer: suspend judgment. See Synonyms at defer1.
b. To render temporarily ineffective: suspend a jail sentence; suspend all parking regulations.
1. To cease for a period; delay.

We don't really need her delegates anymore or anything.  She'll probably "suspend" her campaign, like Romney did, mostly to save her ego, or leave it open in case any unforseen complications (WINK) should arise.  But as long as she's actually going to fight for Obama, I'm fine with it (though the amount of fighting she can do is debatable, given her previous attacks).

"...as long as she's actually going to fight for Obama..."

That's my concern. Is the "suspension" a kick-off to a half-hearted campaign to kinda, sorta but not really help Obama?

Maybe I'm being too cynical here, but it's not like Hillary hasn't given me good reason to.

She could probably do even more damage on the inside than on the outside.  I'm not sure half-hearted support is better in this case than no support at all.  She worries me.  I don't know if I can believe she'll be selfless anymore.  Maybe she'll surprise us and put her shoulder against the wagon and push with everyone else.  I guess we'll find out soon.

Meteors hit all the time!

I'm not saying.  I'm just saying.

that her campaign just leaks the "she's gonna drop out" story, and then the media shows up in a frenzy to watch it (like yesterday), and she gets another national night of free pimping for her website and never actually backs out?  Probably not, but I wouldn't put anything past them at this point.

Now that the primaries are over how many times can she draw big national coverage for a speech now. She could do a "drop-out" head fake once, but could she twice?  Certainly not three times.

She has to understand that every day that goes by she becomes more and more irrelevant.  Remember the Oakland Raiders that lost in the "tuck rule" game?  How long did people continue to give a shit about them?

when I see it.  And then I still need a pinkie swear, and possible a blood oath before I trust that she is going to fall in line.

I just got an email from Hillary saying

On Saturday, I will extend my congratulations to Senator Obama and my support for his candidacy. This has been a long and hard-fought campaign, but as I have always said, my differences with Senator Obama are small compared to the differences we have with Senator McCain and the Republicans.

He is, however, black and vagina-less.  So you can go to (say it with me now) HillaryClinton.com and give me your hard earned scratch (or videogame trade ins).

Let's do this thang,

Hillary

Get over it! So you don't trust Hillary, doesn't mean you can't show the people who supported her some respect and welcome them into the Obama camp. You keep picking at the scabs and the sore will never heal. It could be as simple as she just wants to be able to raise money to get her campaign out of debt. The prize is the white house, and to keep the republican machine from stealing another election, we all need to stand together.
