Normally the blog posts I write are about how American and Canadian politics sometimes differ or mirror each other. How being America's neighbour is like sleeping with an elephant; when it moves - you feel it.

This post however is about American politics and the changes that seem to happening within them.

It doesn't take much looking to see that the tide's a comin' in - a big blue tide to wash away the neo-fascist and neo-conservative fiflth that's turned America from the greatest country's the world's ever known to detested tyrants.

That rising crest is best observed in the Senate Gubnitorial races that are happening in 2008. Not only are 30 some (R) congressmen retiring, but there's also a number of heated contests in place you might not expected.

Lets go down the list and take a look and what's happening where.

Alaska - Stevens' famous fishing cottage is gonna cost her and her party this seat. Stevens 45% Begrich 47%

Colorado - The Rocky Mountain state is not pleased with having been used a piggy bank by the GOP. Shaffer 41% Udall 47%

Kentucky - As a friend of mine from the blue grass state recently told me "Don't get me started on Mitch, he's a son of a bitch." Langford 49% - McConnell 44%

Indiana - Your Governor being Dick Cheney's protege does not win points in elections. Daniels 46% Thompson 49%

Louisiana - Mary might not be in as much trouble as we thought. Meaning that there's some chance not a single seat in any house will be lost. Kennedy 44% Landreiau 47%

Maine - As Susan Collins continues to free fall in the polls, I look forward to taking down Snowe in a couple years as well. They may have helped us now and again, but they still fucked us when it counted. Collins 52% Allen 42%

Minnesota - Norm Coleman has securely slipped under that magic number and it's time to punch this fucker's ticket. He hasn't processecute a single case of war profiteeting and now it's HE who will have to pay. Coleman 47% Franken 45%

Mississippi - Trent Lott gave up his seat and it looks like we're gonna pick it up. One final act of decency from the Klansman. Wicker 46% Musgrove 47%

New Hampshire - John Sununu votes with Bush 90% of the time, New England says thank you, but a-no thank you. Sununu 43% Shaheen 50%

New Mexico - Quickly becoming Bluer between Latin immigrants who want feel like Americans, rather than unwanted Mexicuns and a shift towards Liberalism thank to people like Bill Richardson. Pearce 35% Udall 60%

North Carolina - The loathsome Dole family may soon be out of politics for good, thank God. Dole 47% Hagan 48%

Oregon - In my opinion we need to consider Oregon a blue state now. Tom Metzger changed race-relations there forever, but not the way he would have wanted to. Obama's coattails ought to be especially long here. Smith 45% Merkley 42%

Texas - It may be hard to believe that Texas is making a shift, but it is. Dallas, Corpus Christi, Austin, College Station, etc. are all becoming bastions for the Progressive movement. Cornyn 47% Noriega 43%.

Virginia - Also a state in flux, it also is change because of changing demographics and changing opinions. Gilmore 37% Warner 55%

Though this is all promising, you need to be more determined than ever. I don't mean to be melodramatic, but a lot wrests on this election. Please please don't let McCain win, he'll end the American empire with his Neoliberal economics and his jingoism. God knows I don't want to be part of a Chinese empire.

And so I say to Bobo, Ken, and all the other Republicans, "RUN BITCH RUN!!! THA MOTHERFUCKIN TSUNAMI COMIN!!"
