This last weekend I was listening to an interview of Jonathan Alter by Mark Green on Air America's 7 Days in America. During the interview Alter made what I believe is a great point and suggestion. We cannot just tag McCain as a flip-flopper, this looks too much like we are copying the 2004 campaign. Alter said that Democrats need to find a new Bumper Sticker tag for Senator McCain, and I think I figured out a good one in the Double Talk Express.
John McCain can't talk straight to save his life now. Just yesterday he made inconsistent immigration pledges in a speech to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials, claiming he would both “secure our borders first” and make comprehensive reform his “top priority.”
He has flipped and flopped on every major issue in the last two years, and the media won't cover it. We need a net-roots effort to point out McCain's Double Talk, and having an easy bumper sticker type slogan will help.
What do people think? Should McCain be dubbed the Double Talk Express?
