CAVING ON FISA

If you like this story, digg it!

I through my intuition have sensed the frustration of most of my fellow TURKS as to why the dems have caved on giving in on "Retro" immunity etc. on the FISA bill.  Allow me to describe a senario that could possibly (in theory) explain the motivation behind the dems et al to support the recent shredding of the Constituion through asking a question.

Imagine you are going through your daily routine of emails, cell calls, texting or landline calls to vent your frustrations with respect to how things are going politically, financially or in general WTF is happening to our country. Or doing business with "constituients" and associates through the various modes of communication listed above.

Question:

Lets see. Say you are a congressman or a senator and emailed a colleague.  You get pissed and say. "I wish Bush would go fyck a goat".  Or, you have texted a lobbist stating.... "yeah.... 10 grand will get it.... I'll make sure to filibuster the hell out of it".... or, (to a lobbist) "thanks for the $500 whore, you have my attention now big time."  Now assume that this was caught up in the "sweep" after 911 and these communications just happen (inadvertently of course) to be in say the Vice Presidents possession.  How would you vote on FISA if these communications were brought to your attention?

This is not to mention, the probable information gleaned illeagally prior to the last 2 presidential elections to contribute to the stealing of the contests.

Blackmail is one of the oldest methods of acquiring what one desire.

I know, it would be difficult to fess up to something like I have conveyed above. We are all human. J. Jackson just recently stepped in his mouth with live mic.  That may be somewhat different than the rant above but none the less embarassing to a great degree.  Let us all work toward pressing our representatives and senators to acquire some dignity and push them toward attending to the peoples concerns vs the corporatocracy.  If congress would focus on us, blackmail would be more difficult to pull off.  I know, this is just theory..... but I bet you might be thinking.... "thats pretty logical".

Peace out

If thats true they need to resign their leadership posts.
Bush will have control of the congress as long as they are in charge.

but I doubt that they would be so careless with messages of this sort. Bribery is probably done with a wink and a nod, and hookers spoken of in innocuous terms. As far as wishing Bush would go f a goat, shit, I would leak that myself!

Of course, I doubt that there is one explanation for the behavior of all of the members of Congress who voted for this abomination. Some are stupid, some are making a (misguided) political calculation, others are being well paid for their srvices, et c.

Well I believe this has been where much of Cheney's power lies for a  long time.

I've always felt he "has something" on just about everyone.

It's a tried and true tactic and I think he and his ilk have perfected it. That's why I've always wanted someone to dig up dirt on them.

Would it be illegal to hire a PI to investigate members of the government?

What is the line on that?

I have thought about this congress and how blackmail seems the only excuse for their actions.

They cave on everything!  I was so excited when the democrats won a majority in the house and became equal in the senate, but nothing has come of it!!!

The war is still funded, there have been no substantial investigations into the corruption of the current administration, and nothing has changed for the better.

Obama played his "I was against the war from the start."  I think we all now see that if he had been in the Senate, he too would have voted for this war.  My hope is crushed; there will be no real CHANGE.  Just another politician and I will be stuck choosing the lesser of two evils once again.

Obama voted for it, to everyone's surprise. But they didn't need Obama's vote--and if they had something on Obama, they wouldn't tell him at this point. Just keepin' it real.
