I think most people miss the point about his age. It's not the fact that he's 71, it's his perspective.
I was reminded about a question at a debate between Bill Clinton and Bob Dole. They asked Clinton about whether Dole's age was problematic for a president. Clinton responded that Dole wasn't too old to be president, his ideas were too old.
That sums up the McCain candidacy pretty well.
