why are we afraid?!

We are not the least bit in control...

Listen folks...  Our government is being terrorized... Are we to believe that, left to our own devices, we wouldn't be able to chose between a dottering, bitter oid man and a brilliant young senator as our leader?? Nonsense! The race would've been long over.
Our government...and thus our people are paralyzed...but by what force??? Why can't we make the half dozen moral decisions to restore our country?
We don't have control over our government and they don't have any loyalties to the people of America... What is it that's out there folks? What's controlling the 300 milliion of us???  This is what we must uncover. Distressed in the Heartland.

but nothing to vote for? Are you trying to blow my mind?

No shyt, did you see the dude that the GOP hired to fix the voting machines on Youtube? He is a rethuglican but couldn't deal with the guilt.  He is saying that the bill passed to allow the Prez to continue to spy on us has another motive. To facilitate the theft of the next election. The dude pointed out how easy it is to change vote counts as they are run through a "mainframe" in order to be counted. We may be fucked again. Remember Stalin (to paraphrase) "It's not the people who cast the votes that determine the outcome, its the people who count them".  You may be righter than you think.  "noting to vote for".

I've been out of the news loop the last couple of days, but wouldn't that be a huge story, at least in the alternative media?

This post reads like Jack Burton on the Porkchop Express.

Because you've nominated a candidate with absolutely zero qualifications to be president. You might actually lose the election in a year when Democrats should win in a landslide. What will become of the Democrat Party if they lose in a cakewalk year like 2008?

That's why you're afraid.

by KenTX on 07/19/2008 04:43:55 PM EST

I was just comparing, in my mind, the chance of a black man becoming president with the chance of a terrorist finding some way to kill me.  I conclude that neither one is cause for alarm.  Ken's hot air exhaust about the "democrat party [sic]" is all the evidence you need to determine who's afraid around here.

By the way, to address your apparently difficulty with the local language, Ken:

Democrat Party is incorrect because "democrat" is a noun, which cannot describe another noun (in this case, "party").  Republican Party is okay to say because "republican" can be used as a noun OR adjective (or, if you like, as an expletive).

We'll have you speaking like a real American one day.

Jesse, here’s an update from America. Since you moved to Japan, we started using nouns to modify other nouns. Here are some examples of “NewSpeak”.

"shoe store"
"school bus"
"peace movement"
"Senate election"
“Iraq War”
"Ukraine election"
And my favorite: “Democrat Party” (I made that one up myself!)

We did all this, just to fuck with you. Actually, you’re not really in Japan, you’re in the next movie set over. Your life is like the Truman Show, and when you return to “America”, we’re going to spring this compound noun shit on you.

This is kind of like you teaching me about thermodynamics, although that could never happen, because you know less about thermodynamics than a chimpanzee.

Less than some chimpanzees, anyway.

OK. If that's what you want to call it.

I call it blathering gibberish (compound adjective?), but I thought you would appreciate a response in kind.

I call it blathering gibberish

I know.  That's why I'm trying to help.
