Cenk and Young Turks Mentioned on MSNBC

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
Last night, Thursday the 25th of July, Cenk and the Young Turks were mentioned on Countdown with Keith Olbermann for letting the world know about the one-sided way the Republicans view our current "war-time" efforts, that is, "Iraq is the first conflict since 9/11".

It's phenomenal how the Republicans have, with such ease, turned the attack by Afghan natives, into a passive attack by the "Saddam regime". Perhaps it is more phenomenal, and maybe even a bit frightening, how the right wing of the media (and sadly even non-right wing outlets) are so content to withdraw from comment and allow nonsense to run rampant. They sit back and, assumably bitch personally, while refraining from using their political pull and (inter)national media attention to clear up misinformation and expose these lies and improper actions for what they are; personal gain.

How sad that a country built on a hope for freedom and truth is so easily dismantled by a few monkeys in suits with lapel pins and a group of "reporters" without the principle to stand up and speak out against action founded on personal agenda.

Perhaps the positive for the focus to be shifted to is the fact that there still are media outlets willing to do the right thing. Willing to do the honest thing. It's a relief to see people like Keith Olbermann, Dan Abrams, and Cenk Uygar representing those without a public voice who cannot stand the shrew and dishonest politics of the Bush administration and those who grovel at their feet.

What in the world are you talking about by saying "the attack by Afghan natives"?

There has never been an attack by Afghan natives against the US.

Talk about nonsense running rampant, sheesh.

I certainly hope Olberman wasn't talking about "attacks by Afghan natives".

People living in/acting from a base within Afghanistan. Is that not clear enough for you?

Were we attacked by people in Iran, Iraq, Pakistan? Where would you like to assess their point of attack? Why all the fuss about going into Afghanistan is not because that is their "native" base?

There is no evidence at all that any Afghanistan official or even "native" knew of the Saudi natives' al Queda attack on 9/11.

My information is that Afghani natives were only on the edges of al Queda.  I could be wrong on one or two, but it certainly is not and was not an organizatin run by Afghanistan natives.

The importance of that point is that there was no reason to invade Afghanistan because Afghanistan was not behind 9/11.

We had good reason to enter Afghanistan. We new where the attacks had come out of and it was perfectly reasonable to head back in an attempt to get them as soon as possible.

Cenk should make a youtube video announcing it!

Except Olbermann left out the definite article and it made me cringe.  He called Cenk "Cenk Uygur of Young Turks."
