John Edward's Baby Momma

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
A story about the Breck Girl originated in the tabloids, but its now appearing in the mainstream media. I'm traveling, and I can't link it right now, but google news for edwards + beverly hilton.

John Edwards is now out of veep contention. I only wish he had captured the nomination.

I figured they would catch him with Tiny. Either way, he's toast.

He's not a Republican.

Ann Coulter.  Making him gay, an adulterer and a massive hypocrite with bad taste.

I took Ken's advice and googled it and got hits from:

Fox News

National Enquirer

Cover Awards

Hotel Chatter

Pajamas Media

Memeo randum

And a bunch of other sites I have never heard of.

Apparently this is what Ken means when he says Mainstream Media.

Nice try.

by ProfRich on 07/25/2008 06:19:32 PM EST

I said when I did what Ken said to do (Google "Edwards Beverly Hilton") that is what I got.  That is true.

But for fun, from your sources, three of which can be summed up as "Look at the crazy shit the National Enquirer is saying."

from the LA Times "Opinion Blog" you linked:

the Enquirer hasn't been able to produce quotes, photos or even eyewitness accounts. And the mainstream media seems to be ignoring it, for the most part.

Yeah, that proves the point!

From New York Mag:

But the tabloid's editors must be really annoyed that they didn't manage to push the story into the mainstream media

The Philly Tattle column is actually mocking the Enquirer.

The best is the Slate column.  Its a media watch column written by a guy named Jack Shaffer.  Shaffer is apparently outraged that the Larry Craig story was picked up while the Enquirer story has been ignored (more proof Ken is wrong).  So this Shaffer guy writes a media watch column but can't discern the difference between a National Enquirer story with no witnesses or no pictures and a police report!

This line from his Wiki entry might explain it though:

Shafer thinks universal healthcare, the signature issue of John Edwards' campaign for the Presidency, is anti-libertarian satanism.

Like I said, the original tabloid story is now being picked up by the mainstream media.

Washington Post
KC Star
Post Chronicle

Establishing paternity is a very simple process. Would anyone like to bet that the father turns out to be someone other than John Edwards?

Would anyone like to bet that Edwards will be Obama’s running mate?

Would anyone like to bet that Edwards will someday be elected president?

Would anyone like to bet that this clip didn't destroy Edwards’ political future?

when you post this ken. I click on your wapo link and get a gossip columnist with an item referring to national enquirer labeled 'uh, oh'.

That's your evidence that the mainstream media is picking it up?

Get that weaksauce outta here.

there's nothing wrong with that clip. The music is funny but they all primp. So what.

With everyone in the forum as witnesses.

Would you like to bet that any paternity test proves that John Edwards is the father? The only problem is whether there will be a paternity test. The mother knows the truth. The father knows the truth. (He has to sneak into a hotel room at 3:00 am to see his baby.)

Face it. John Edwards' political future is highly doubtful. Another one bites the dust.

See ya.

Can we think of any other presidential candidates that engaged in adultery?  Like maybe McCain and Guiliani?

I really don't have anything much to say about adultery except "it happens."  People can lose all judgment when it comes to sex, due primarily to neurochemistry. You gotta love science.

Why is the MSM not covering the story? Salon had a good explanation:

"First, Edwards didn't get that much coverage in the first place, and he's not thought of as a really serious contender to be Barack Obama's running mate, so it's unlikely that major outlets will devote to this story the substantial assets required to do reporting on it. Without doing that, it's unlikely many outlets will report on the story based entirely on the Enquirer's allegations. Even if editors and reporters believe that the story is true and the reporting is solid, it would look odd for a paper like, say, the New York Times to print a story that came solely from the Enquirer. There's also the jealousy factor -- taking the Times as an example again, the paper of record really doesn't want to admit that it got scooped by a tabloid. And, last, there's the Elizabeth Edwards factor. Reporters are especially careful in a case like this, because of Elizabeth Edwards' illness."

So, if true, it is a bummer for his political career.  I personally don't judge candidates by their personal sex lives, but the American public most definitely does.  I didn't see Obama choosing Edwards as VP, but I thought he could be a contender for the AG slot.

Lets see.

The New York Times reported McCain was having an affair with no real evidence.

The National Enquirer reported John Edwards was having an affair with no evidence.

Ken finds it inconceivable the National Enquirer is wrong.

Do you believe the NYT?

Because I can accept the following:

Both are right.

Both are wrong.

I believe the NYT but not the Nat Enq.

What must be ridiculed is:

I believe the Nat Enq and not the NYT.

Do you believe in the Britney alien sasquatch babies too?

Be careful Ken.  When you decide the Nat Enq is an unimpeachable source you are taking on a loooooooooot of territory to defend.

The National Enquirer has busted many careers, such as Gary Hartpence.
monkey business
People didn't really buy the "McCain Affair", because the guy is 71 years old.

In the case of the "Edwards Affair", we have tangible evidence, a baby! That's a lot better than a blue dress with a cum stain on it.

Reporters said Edwards appeared "ashen white" and "sickened" when he was confronted in the Beverly Hilton in the wee hours of the morning. That sounds like the look of a very ambitious man who just realized that he will never be president.

I wish someone had taken a photo of the busted perp, and posted it on the web. I'd like to look into his eyes at the exact moment he realized his dreams were over.

Here is the latest fair and balanced report, courtesy of your friends at FoxNews.

I like Sean Hannity's assertion that the mainstream press would be going completely ape-shit on this story if it was a leading Republican like Mitt Romney, instead of the loathsome cocksucker, John Edwards.

If it weren't for FoxNews and talk radio, there would be no story. Edwards would have gotten away with it.

Even loyal fans of Edwards are admitting that this is the real deal.

I sure am going to miss John Edwards.

Nothing the Gray Old Party has come up with so far has even come close.  This magic bullet you're waiting for better will have to be something really devastating.

For example:

This just in!  Obama was born in Panama!

Obama tells rape jokes!

Obama is over 70!

I'll take 6 to 1 odds. If its edwards baby, I'll by you a beer next time you visit the people's democratic republic of Portland. But since you're so invested in being right about this (makes no diff to me either way) you can ship me a six pack of my favorite import if it turns out you're wrong.

The only thing I got out of this story ken, is that Fox news is a tabloid (no surprise there), and okay I give in--you've convinced me. You've laid out a rock-solid case that the mainstream media has a strong conservative bias. Thankyou for finally pulling the wool from my eyes.

Fox has given up any pretense that they are

A) Balanced

B) A journalistic organization

C) not a tabloid.

Now we can relax and put the debate to rest about what fox news is. Here are some examples of some other work by their sources:

Good find KenTX.

I defy you to find me some original reporting at foxnews.com. You won't, because it doesn't exist.
