Yeah, things are gonna CHANGE a lot in an Obama administration!!! People from all sides of the spectrum should be livid about this, as I believe we are in agreement here - thanks for the posting! :)

Don't feel you are alone.
There are a lot of people who are angry with the leadership and Obama over this.
If your senator voted for this bill let him know you want him to oppose it.
They ignore emails but enough phone calls and faxes effect any vote.
If he won't change, work to replace him with someone who will listen.

They depend on short memories to get away with things like this.
The election is too soon and this issue is going to cost the dems more votes than they realize.

"Obama's not stupid and he has an insiders information. He knows what they are doing and is backing them up."

Lawmakers have access to highly classified information. Democrats on the House and Senate Intelligence Committees always back the president in matters of war, because they understand the nature of the threat and the appropriate course of action. Throughout the battle against terrorism, Democrat lawmakers have consistently voted for measures that have baffled and outraged their liberal base.

Congressional Democrats are walking the tightrope of appeasing the kook base with words, while protecting the country with actions. As a result, they vote against the kook base in every major piece of legislation, even though they hold the majority in both Houses of Congress. This is what JFK meant with the term “profiles in courage”. I jokingly tease the Democrats about caving, when what they are really doing is standing up for America and supporting principled measures.

History will prove that America was involved in an epic, existential struggle at the beginning of the 21st century, and only a handful of Democrat lawmakers had the vision and good sense to battle the enemy. There will be many future attacks from Islamic jihadists on American people. Each time, the public will be reminded which side was fighting against the jihadists, and which side was appeasing them.

Conservatives today seem to have the same problem they did before, just the words have changed:  Nationalists (who happen to be muslim) != jihadists... those are in Afghanistan just like SE Asian/S. American Nationalists != communists in the post war era...

it's well known, for instance, that many S. American countries allied themselves with the Soviets, not because they philosophically believed in Marxism (seriously, look at the literacy rates - you think they read Das Kapital) but b/c of poor foreign policy from the US... they only had one other place to turn.

Many Americans seem to have a problem distinguishing political rhetoric from reasons.

BTW, Admiral Mullen knows the nature of the threat....

bill kristol would be proud. You republican's must get together periodically and try to outdo each other on who can be more wrong. I think you're the winner.

I hope you're not really insulted. Tim and I just had a conversation where we agreed that my role is that of conservative foil, entertainer, and human pinata. If I depart prior to the election, who would you guys ridicule after Obama wins? I serve an important function here.

Some might argue that we already ridicule you.  No, when Obama wins, we'll probably focus on Bobo (whose operative argument thus far has been "No, Obama can't be president and no, I'm not going to vote and you can't make me. No no no no NO NO NO! [Crying].")

I don't think your purpose is to be a foil.
You are an agent provateur. You kill
any real discussion on this site by inserting
outrageous comments and starting a flame war.
I'm going to ignore you. I wish everyone would.

someone got insulted here, but it wasn't me. I'm not sure which conversation with tim you're referring too, but if its this one if you scroll down you'll see that I think good thoughts about you even as type devastating points that you can't answer. Seriously, there's nothing wrong or uncivil about my post (except the comaparison to Bill Kristol maybe?), but I will give you a maoist apology if it will make you feel better.

Only a coward and fool thinks this is about terroism.
This bill is about political advantage and supression
of domestic dissent.

I'd like to point out,  that since they will now record everyone, this also means you.
All the things you hold secret will be for sale to the highest bidder.

What do you think,...carrier pidgeons for those dirty little secrets?

ahhh... more fear mongering from a conservative - big surprise.

The dems have been allowing the (R) to do what they want b/c, to some extent, they know it will backfire (it already has) b/c its BAD PUBLIC POLICY.

Well, the other extent is that the American public have been bamboozled into believing this crap.  When you have a democratic consensus, you give the people what they want, no matter how disastrous it is.  It's called learning from mistakes.  It seems we've learned.....

You dont get exactly what you want so you scream that youre being played for a chump?

And then you troll everyone in the original post?

Weak Sauce

Heres a tip, sweety: Obama cant change anything until HE WINS!

Everything else is just a good idea. You cant change the entire system when all the other players are doing what they always do and the media stinks.

You change things from the top down, after you win
