KenTX is prepared to forgive Wesley Clark.

I'm giving Wes Clark an opportunity to square things with me. All he needs to do is give the same impassioned speech about John McCain that he gave about John Kerry at the 2004 Democrat Convention.

It was a great speech
. In essence, all Wes Clark said was that John Kerry served his country during time of war, while his opponent didn’t serve. Therefore, since we are a country at war, John Kerry is more qualified to be the Commander-In-Chief than his opponent.

I want Wes Clark to deliver this exact same speech at the Republican Convention, but I want him to replace “Kerry” with “McCain”. I’ve taken the liberty of editing the speech in preparation for the presentation in Minneapolis.

We have reserved a prime time slot for Wes Clark’s speech. Here’s how it will sound:

A safe America, a just America, that's what we want, that's what we need. And with John Kerry McCain, that is what we will achieve.

John Kerry McCain has heard the thump of enemy mortars. He's seen the flash of the tracers. He's lived the values of service and sacrifice. He proved his physical courage under fire. And he's proved his moral courage too.

John Kerry McCain fought a war, and I respect him for that. And he came home to fight a peace. And I respect him for that, too.

John Kerry's McCain’s combination of physical courage and moral values is my definition of what we need as Americans in our commander in chief.

John Kerry McCain is a man who in time of war can lead us as a warrior, but in times of peace, he will heed the call of scripture to lead us in beating swords into plowshares.

John Kerry McCain will lead America with strength and wisdom. He has the will to fight. He has the moral courage born in battle to pursue and secure a strong peace. Under John Kerry McCain, I have no doubt -- and neither should any American -- that we are going to attack and destroy the terrorist threat to America.

You see, John Kerry McCain knows that the power of America is not just our armed forces and our weaponry.
It's really the power of our values and ideals.

And John Kerry McCain knows that members of our armed forces embody the best of America's values: service, sacrifice, courage, compassion.

He knows that the members in the armed forces are serving to build something greater than themselves. They're serving to build something worth fighting for. They're serving to build something worth dying for.

John Kerry McCain knows that the men and women who serve and our veterans are a company of heroes. And everyone who fights for the best in American life is also a hero: firemen, police officers, teachers and so many others.

I say to you tonight: John Kerry's McCain’s time to lead this company of heroes has arrived. Right here, right now, in this town, tonight, from this place, we set out together to put our country back on track to security and freedom and opportunity.

America, hear this soldier. Choose a leader whose physical courage, moral values and sound judgment, with the grace of God and our determined commitment, will strengthen our country, protect our liberty, renew our spirit and secure a future for our children that is worthy of our heritage.

Make John Kerry McCain the next president of the United States.

These people here actually believe that General Clark is still politically viable in this election - that Obama would nominate him as VP! If that happens, I'm going to shit my pants and post the photos here for your enjoyment!!! Clark is gonna stay hidden for a good long while, and God Bless Him for it... I'd shit if I thought anyone would give McCain this sort of warm greeting - even the True Conservative Republicans can't hold their hate of him inside!!!

Do you two idiots have anything better to do than spam this board with nonsense?

This would be great news for Clark, if only your opinion mattered to him.

If America learned anything from Kerry's failed bid, it's that voting for someone just because he was a soldier is the political equivalent of dating a girl just because she says she used to be bisexual.  You're holding out for that threesome you've always wanted to have, even though there's no reason for you to suspect that she'll let you have it.

McCain will not let you have a threesome.

Who are you trying to reach here?  I'm not going to bother watching those clips. Why should I waste my time?

I'm sorry your candidate just plain sucks Ken.  I would have respect for a conservative candidate with some integrity.  I have no respect for Bush and neither do a lot of conservatives.  I HAD respect for McCain, until he sold out and decided to pander to the religious right.

The Republicans should scramble and choose someone else at the convention.  Huckabee would probably have a better chance of winning.

Whenver you post the words "Kerry" or "Swiftboat", I'll be prepared with an automatic response. I'll simply cut and paste these beautiful ads. They shut down all debate on the subject.

Hell, they shut down the entire Kerry Campaign.

Do you think 527s will do the same thing to Barack Obama? I'm just wondering.

I don't think I've ever posted those words before and haven't planned to.  I'm quite sure the Republicans will pull out every trick in the book.

Tell us something positive about your candidate and his policies for once.  Is there a reason the republicans can only smear Obama with lies and distortions?

you forgot one.

A link accompanied by a direct quote of exactly what Clark (or Kerry or any other prominent Democrat) said that attacked McCain's record, instead of simply suggesting that being a POW doesn't automatically give you a free pass to the Oval Office.

2004 McCain Did The Right Thing....

"WASHINGTON - Republican Sen. John McCain, a former prisoner of war in Vietnam, called an ad criticizing John Kerry’s military service “dishonest and dishonorable” and urged the White House on Thursday to condemn it as well. MSNBC"

“It was the same kind of deal that was pulled on me,” McCain said in an interview with The Associated Press, comparing the anti-Kerry ad to tactics in his bitter Republican primary fight with President Bush.

2008: Apparently McCain's memory is going...( Hey just think another Reagan!)

"John McCain's embrace of this group might be his biggest act of political whoredom to date, and his most idiotic. Even Republicans have to be shaking their heads at this latest, Bill Buckner-esque blunder. Instead of letting the media start the fireworks, he tried to set off his own display, and it blew up in his face.

Instead of sitting back and letting the media do his work for him, which they had already started to do, McCain fired a torpedo at several of his biggest assets. McCain earned a lot of goodwill when he defended John Kerry in 2004. This severely erodes that, plus it takes another bite out of his already chewed-up "Straight Talk" narrative, and it shows his own willingness to politicize service in Vietnam. " AOL Political Blog by T Christopher

McCain's True Colors: Liar & Hypocrite

"Republican John McCain, who four years ago condemned independent ads challenging Democrat John Kerry's military record, has accepted nearly $70,000 for his presidential campaign from the top donors of the group behind the attack ads and their relatives, a USA TODAY analysis shows. USA Today

After repeatedly begging John McCain to be his running mate in 2004, do you think that John Kerry might have the class and good grace to return the favor and defend the honor and service record of John McCain?

Fuck no! He's a goddam Democrat!

KO'dTX fails to respect the difference between lying about John Kerry's service versus honoring John McCain's service and recognizing that it isn't a plus for the Presidency, just as he can't recognize the difference between war heroes like John Kerry, Wes Clark, etc. and a POW.   Any Democrat who was a POW would be hounded out of running for President due to the potential for deep psychological damage.  We're sorry for the interrogation prisoners went through, but we can't take the risk that John McCain still has snakes in this head.

Are you?

Just checking.

You're not one of those Democrats who is pissed off because other people are happy and successful, while you're an abject loser?

Just checking.

If you're addressing your question to me, the point of "Honest Abe" is that, like Cenk, I'm an enlightened former Republican, now Independent, due to the constant lying and dishonesty of the cowardly "Conservative" politicians and propagandists who first took over my party and then stole an election and took over our country.  These so-called Conservatives are among the worst, most un-American threats that America has ever faced, and you, despite all of the evidence, still don't get it.

By the way, far from being a loser, I'm very successful in my field and my life, and financially a multi-millionaire with a paid for house, no mortgage and no debts.  In fact, unlike those poor losers who listen to Rush and think he's on  their side, I could financially side with the soak-the-fools Conservatives, but, unlike them, I love America.
