McCain misspeaking AGAIN

John McCain this morning:

"If Iran attacked Israel, I have no doubt that the entire region would errupt in conflict, the Iranians euh Iraqis would have to respond as any nation does that's attacked and the entire region and probably the United States would be drawn into the conflict"

really, if Iran attacked Israel, Iraq would attack Iran?  it's clear he meant Israel or so I hope

but even that's unlickely, I mean, seriously, you're betting Iran will attack Israel? I would place my money on Israel attacking Iran.

And if that happens, will your reaction be the same mister McCain or doesn't Iran has a right to protect itself from foreign attacks?
Look I don't look kindly on Iran, but the hypocrisy has to stop, Israel as the only nuclear, unlawful might I add, power in that region, it has no moral authority telling anyone else what they can and can't do on this subject.

Also if Israel would attack Iran, the region might explode indeed, it might achieve the one thing no one has been able to do before: unite sunni and shiate muslims.
How do you like your chances then? Possible outcomes, none of them good:
1. Israel uses nukes
2. America will have to occupy every country in the region
3. Israelis can pack their bags and move out

but hey it looks so promesing: rightwingers in Teheran, rightwingers in Washington and rightwingers in Jerusalem, how could it possibly go wrong?

They're really ramping up the Iran/Israel/War rhetoric on the news the last week or so.

I'm starting to really get nervous that we're heading in that direction.  Today Tom Delay was on Hardball saying that he'd prefer that the US attack Iran instead of Israel doing it.

Matthews asked if he wanted to do it NOW and Delay responded by saying no, not NOW, but within 2-3 months or so depending on what Iran does (or doesn't do).

they know Iran won't attack, so they're ramping up the perceived threat of Iran, so that might give them the cover to attack Iran

I bet you these guys go to bed praying Iran attacks, that way they can bomb it back to the stone age

it's also sad that so many Americans still fall for this, what threat does Iran pose to the US, NONE. On one side also claiming you're the toughest bad ass in the world, but constantly crying about how threatening some other countries are, that's just plain sad.

what the USSR did in WW2, loosing 20 million people to brake the back of the German army, the greatest army at that time (75% of German forces were on the Eastern front), that's tought, also nuts of course, but tough none the less

This all smells quite a bit like the runup to the iraq war in 02-03.  I think it comes straight from Goering's playbook.
