Driving across the states

I'm planning on visiting The States next year

Hey turks

Me and a friend are planning on hiring a Car in Boston and driving across America ending in San Fran. (prolly gonna have a full month to do it)

So anyone have any suggestions for "must see"-stuff, feel free. ;)

Butte is the only city in the United States where possession and consumption of open containers of alcoholic beverages always are allowed on the street throughout the entire city (although not in vehicles)

but In and Out Burger is pretty amazing.

I know my answer is dumb anyway, but it's even more dumberer that I got the name wrong.  In-N-Out Burger.  I apologize to all involved.

get the presidential election results map from 2000 and 2004, and identify all red-states.

you need to avoid driving through these places; that way, you can contribute to the destruction of their already fucked up economies by not paying for gas (in these states), not buying food (in these states), and not otherwise helping the rednecks (in these states).

if you cannot find a completely blue route from boston to san francisco, just fly.

Yeah, I said it.  I'm edgy like that.

How'd you know I wasn't aa red state kind of guy, anyways. Just because I come from a country that pays 40-50% taxes and where the state provides free health care, education (including living expenses for students) and a social savety net for all ;). I bet some of your Republicans would should themselves if they had to live here.

Any idea what month you want to take your trip?  That may play a role in what to see and the best route.
