While conservative blow hards are trying to dump the sins of the Obama's father on the son, closer to home it appears the McCain family is covering up the existence of Cindy McCain's two half sisters. It seems the sisters spoil the fabricated and idyllic tale of the American Dream.

Spinning a American Fairy Tale

When Cindy McCain is asked about growing up or in speeches to civic groups she refers to herself as an "only child" -- a lie that ignores the existence of her half sisters, her fathers affairs and their shabby treatment by the Hensley family.

James Hensley: Business Tycoon,  Republican Stalwart and "Philandropist"

Kathleen Hensley Portalski is the only child of Hensley's first marriage in the 1930s to Mary Jeanne Parks. Hensley divorced Parks for Marguerite "Smitty" Johnson, whom he met at a West Virginia hospital in World War II and married in 1945. This Hensley family trait of abandoning families may explain Cindy's duplicity in John McCain's affair and subsequent divorce of his first wife while she was recovering from a near fatal auto accident.

Flash ahead to Hensley's funeral in 2000. In his will, he left just $10,000 to his older daughter. Beauty queen Cindy inherited her father's multi million dollar fortune.

By all accounts Portalski stood quietly by for years while her father poured attention on his second family. While the inheritance slight was bad enough, recently, with Cindy McCain's "glowing" childhood memories and repeated references to being her father's only child the lies became to much to take. "I was his family, too. I saw him at Christmas and I spent my birthdays with him."

But wait there's more!

Cindy McCain has another half sister. Before her marriage to Hensley, Johnson had a daughter, Dixie Burd, by a previous relationship. Maybe Hensley's dad and Obama's father were old drinking buddies?

And the McCain Campaign says...

"Mrs. McCain was raised as the only child of Jim and Marguerite Hensley, andthere was no familiar relationship with any other sibling." it said in a statement

Remember that quote, you'll see it again later.

Why all the subterfuge?

Marriages and families break up all the time right? Of course,its all about the money:

"Money, of course, has exacerbated the family tensions. The multimillionaire Hensley only occasionally saw his older daughter -- and was emotionally distant when he did, according to her son -- but gave Portalski and her children money and college tuition. But when he died eight years ago, Hensley bequeathed Cindy the majority share of his company. Portalski got no share of the business, and support to her family was abruptly cut off. Now, she said, all she wants is for the McCain's to apologize and acknowledge her branch of the family tree. ( Guess what, they're Democrats.) "He was my father, too. I don't know why even now he cannot be a part of my life."

By the way, Andrew McCain, John's son  is now the chief financial officer for Hensley Distributors Inc.

John: Cleaning Up After Cindy

The McCain campaign currently and the Senator himself in the past  have gone to great lengths to gloss over Cindy's transgressions of all stripes, from the serious: prescription medication addiction, her illegal use of he charity doctors to give her prescriptions and the suppression of a federal investigation into the prescription fraud by Senator McCain, to the ridiculous plagiarizing recipes from womens magazines.

Now Cindy and the McCain campaign have been caught spinning a Ozzie and Harriett childhood from what could charitably be called a Jerry Springer moment. You wont find the story on the McCain website anymore, just glowing recounting of Cindy's charity work. One of the charities by the way is the one she got her drugs from.

So what does this say about Republican morals?
Particularly with all the faux furor over Obama's fathers relationships after his divorce from Obama's mother and the subsequent illegitimate children. It's OK the have several families and abandoned children as long as your:

Rich

White

Republican

Your family ( wife in this case) can avoid prosecution for drug offenses,( regardless of the husbands support for stiff drug penalties) if they are

Rich

White

Married to a Republican senator.

So when you see the absolutely idiotic conservative babbling about Obama's half brothers remember this:
