Esteemed Senator Obama
Mr. Obama need not worry about experience meerly because the RNC is running an old guy. And, simply because the righties want to make an issue of it.
The Senator from Illinois will soon catch on, or getting ready to put that inexperience silliness to bed, that one thrown against the wall by the Republicans. It's still a little sticky but it's coming off and, with the proper timing it'll make no sense at all before long.
McCain is starting to make up war stories on his tours, and feels quite comfortable because all of his people and many of the democrats are deathly afraid to mention his name without adding "war hero."
That's nonsense and I'll tell you why. He (McCain) never mentions any other veterans of Vietnam besides himself. ( When his people read this, he'll start to mention them as if he thought of it.) But, back to my point. He only mentions himself as if only he was fighting back then.
Many of us took 3 and 4 thirteen months tours over in that snake, tarantula, misquito, 110 degree swamp invested jungle. We went on ambushes every night; roving patrols every night, listening posts every night, and everything you have to do to fight a war. Was McCain thinking of us then.
Was McCain thinking of those troops last week when he was bragging on himself? Or, did he think of the troops 30 years ago sitting in his cell while we were on guard; when sleep came in 2 or 3 minute spurts for months on end; or, when we were loading choppers with the dead Americans after being over run? Did he think of the troops? Those who were pushing on endlessly while he was in his cell. Did he think of Khe Sahn and Con Thien?
Where are his scars from all this torture he endured; all those beatings he took. We think of all troops, Sailors, Airmen and Marines when we go to THE WALL to honor those we had to carry the rest of the way; when we visit Walter Reed -- the last stop for your buddy where he died of his wounds -- after the Navy doctors tried all they could to save him. I still march with WW11 Vets, many were POWs; many held the lines.
You don't need this madness to be president, you do need common sense, quick thinking and be well organized. Obama knows the inner workings of the senate, congress, the administration, everyone who graduated from highschool knows this, or should. Foreign policy is known to those who design it! Can anyone say we have a good foreign policy right now. NO! A highschool kid could design a better foreign policy than the one we have. Does anyone think that McCain is going to change the foreign policy we have now? Again, NO!
No one, ever took a job that he didn't have to learn when he got there; he has to take advice from those already there or be a fool. If he done it before, then he started before. I don't believe McCain was ever president and, 80% of America believes it's nonsense to stay in Iraq. In other words, it's not common sense to stay there. No one in the world believes that Iraq can beat the American war machine, equally, no one in the world believes Iraq can beat the Russian war machine.
Mr Obama, stick with what works. Do not slip so far to the centre. You're good at getting your message out there with your big crowds. Get back out there and show them you meant what you said. McCain's going to do what McCain's going to do. Anyone can fight back at name calling, so get someone to do that if it needs doing.
Did you ever notice how McCain always says, "I will fight big oil." What on earth does that mean. Or, "I will stand up to the corporations." Don't these things have names?
