Young Turks Arrived in Denver
It's Sunday 3:30 pm Denver time. Cenk, Jayar and I have arrived in Denver. From the airport we drove straight to downtown Denver in our gas-guzzling Suburban. The 16th St pedestrian mall was buzzing with excitement on convention eve. Cenk and Jayar ran into James Carville, and at the Rialto Cafe a Democratic delegate recognized Cenk from the Young Turks. During lunch we watched live news coverage of Michelle Obama arriving in an airplane.
Maraudering squads of heavily armed police officers are everywhere in Denver (except when we needed to find a cop to ask directions). Prices for everything are jacked up. Democrats better get a nice tax cut to pay for all these expenses.
We have our credentials to enter the arena tomorrow. Now I realize we have a big problem - how are we going to get all of our crap in there. We are on our own here, and we have a lot of broadcast equipment to haul. We could use a few sherpas at the moment.
In a few hours we are gathering in Boulder for the Young Turks meet up. Should be fun. Time to get some rest now.
