McCain WILL Continue the U.S. hegemony

McCain has verbalized on the air that "unfortunately there will be more wars."  He intends in my mind to followup with the ideology of pre-emptive strikes as a tool for hard diplomacy. I think his name is all over the Georgia shitstorm.

let us just hope that the "more wars" pronouncement is not of the nuclear type.  We have already poisoned Iraq with depeleted uranium.  A war with Russia would, although praised by people like John Bolton, be like putting whipcream on shit.  Even for the war mongers.  Its like they are ignorant of what a nuclear holocost would entail.  I read a post on afterdowningstreet. Since I can't get this goddamn thing to link it, please find "Are you ready for a nuclear war." I considere it quite interesting. Please check it out. The article was written by Paul Craig Roberts, a republican.  He recieved emails from "conservative republicans" whom did not know who he is or where he came from.  He is like Susan Eisenhower, Ikes grandaughter who has dropped out of the rethuglican party because of the party loseing its identity. Or former identity. The article is on counterpunch as well.

Anyway, if you want war, war profiteering, greed, hate, continued loss of respect from the rest of the world including our allies. Not to mention the posibility of wipeing humanity off the face of the earth. VOTE MCCAIN and company.  One of his main advisors also is/was a lobbyist for Georgia.  Shows McCain would even start a war to be President.  Then he could go ape shit starting wars after being elected or as the republicans have demonstrated in the last two contests stealing the election.

 PEACE

Mikhail Gorbachev's ass, you know the guy who shared the Nobel Peace Prize, thank god and allah for Mikhael, if Russia had a leader like Putin at the time, Reagan would have started WWIII, Putin would not have taken Reagan's statements before the Iceland meet-up

Prague 6, haha, that's farmer country in my book, way outside the city center, the district mayor is a conservative named Tomas Chalupa, of course..... that he would love Reagan

French Revolution anyone? btw without the Russians, the Allieds would never have defeated Hitler that soon, if ever
and yes the USA has been the only source for freedom in the world... jeez give me a break, how can anyone take you seriously with statements like that???

but yeah, I'm sure South-Americans will agree

you're going off the rails more and more man, get a grip or just stop listening to FOX

the spreading question with a timeline question, very smart there bub, but won't work

BTW you do remember having slavery at that time, right? blacks didn't think America was so free

also I think the English, for one, felt very free

you sir are a joke, is there anything else in your head than propaganda?

again switching the conversation, that is NOT an answer to what I said

again if Russia had a "stronger", should say "tougher" leader at that time, Reagan probably would have ignited WWIII

Gorbachev won the Nobel Peace Prize all by hisself.

Who did you think he shared it with?

Reagan?  That is fucking hilarious.

let me buy you a bottle of champagne for this one alone

actually yeah, I was under that misimpression

I probably mixed up both of them being nominated with them sharing it when I was much younger

man, I'm so happy to hear this, because it always annoyed the hell out of me that they would give that cowboy the prize

thanks you, thank you Rich

Just trying to correct the historical record.

The Republicans have done an incredible job creating the fiction that Reagan was well-liked and respected.

He wasn't.

The Nobel Committee wouldn't have given him the time of day.

Ancient Greece

Contemporary England

The Netherlands

The Roman Republic

The lands conquered by Alexander the Great

Much of the empire of Darius the Great

Literally thousands of pastoral societies

Many Native American communities

Do you need more?

Are you really so brainwashed you think America invented freedom?

Its shit like this that makes us all wonder if you are a moron.

Continuing our college discussion. You did not take to many history electives I'm guessing?

C'mon, those were the easy ones. Lot easier then poetry anyway.

yes, there was individual freedom, for instance in the England that you made yourself independent from, also the Romand Republic, ...

BTW how free where the slaves or are you not considering the blacks to be human

will this be the second time you dodge the question?

Compare the Bill of Rights to the English Bill of Rights.

Monarchies and autocracies I listed?

Athens?

The Roman Republic (the model for our government)?

Many pastoral societies and Native American Communities?

The Netherlands?

Also, having democracy doesn't necessarily guarantee freedom.  Iraq was a "democracy".  ; So was the Confederacy.  And South Africa.

Just like a monarchy can have an enormous amount of personal freedom, like England at the time, or Darius' Empire, or Alexander's.

Finally, it has to be pointed out that you are trying to hide behind democracy when you and you're party don't even believe in democracy!

Praying for low voter turnout, giggling that people will support your candidates because they believe the lies you spread and, more or less, openly advocating cheating are highly anti-democratic.

At the heart of why Dems approach elections the way they do and republicans approach them the way they do is a core understanding of what democracy is for.

Dems believe Democracy's purpose is to ensure the government reflects the will of the majority of the people.

Republicans believe Democracy's purpose is to paint a thin veneer of credibility over an aristocratic autocracy operated to benefit a wealthy few.

Democrats believe in Democracy as a moral imperative.

Republicans see it as Peasant Rebellion Prevention.

Go back to the beginning of the thread and read the whole thing.

If it still seems like I failed to address your point, research the places I listed during the appropriate time periods.

Until then, stick to posting about energy technology and the most up to date Gallup polls.

time for you to ignore it for the 3rd time:

WHAT ABOUT THE SLAVES

you talk about personal freedom, sure as long as you're lilly white

or does this reveal how you really think about blacks?

in Nazi Germany, the Nazi elites had a lot of personal freedom, not so much if you were Jewish

"on the concept of individual freedom. We created the idea and exported it to the world"

are you totally ignorant??????????????????? ?? funny how many of the Founding Fathers got many of their ideas from the French Enlightenment

"In places like Poland and the Czech Republic, they have statues and memorials to Ronald Reagan"

there were plans, as far as I can see, there is no statue at this moment in Prague

"Most of the rest of the world understands that America represents freedom, but Democrats think America represents a free lunch"

most of the world understands that America NOWADAYS stands for torture, war mongering and police state practices when you enter the country

thank god for Hollywood and the rest of the entertainment industry, because without them nothing would be coming out of the US that people love

the article:

Are You Ready for Nuclear War? by Paul Craig Roberts

can you imagine one of those fools actually going nuclear?

maybe then: American Revolution v2.0 now with guillotine :)

by callisto on 08/24/2008 06:43:44 PM EST

I found the article here. Thanks for the link, hope it works?

Ronald Reagan bankrupted the federal gov't so we could create a vacuum in the middle east filled by CIA trained Taliban extremists and take over Russia's war with Afghanistan. Obviously I'm being a bit facetious, he didn't intend for this to happen, but his and the republican short-sighted simplistic solutions indeed created our current mess, from the financials and debt to oversea wars. To be fair to him, most of it was the shenanigans of his wacky VP, the super-spook CIA Herb.
So of course, since we traded one problem (the cold war) for another (war on terror), well, obviously now that things have gotten so far out of control, we need to go back to the former. Makes sense to me, if you think with neocon assbackwards logic, that is. There is no problem so big you can't create a bigger problem to distract from it, neocon precept number one.

Biden, though, has been there all along to stop them every step of the way, he understands that all these machinations towards nuclear war are really just scare tacticts to get the final funding for SDI before they totally lose power. As much as McCain would be Bush III, you won't have the Poindexters, Scowcrofts, Meese's and Baker's back in power, he would come in with his own Leiberman's and an entirely different set of problems. With Bush/Cheney comes the end of SDI, this is all just one final push to scare the American public into funding a program that has wasted billions and does not work.

When the only tool you've got is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail. Course, doesn't really matter if it is a rubber 5 dollar mallot or a 1000 dollar waste of tax payer money hidden as indescretionary spending in the over-inflated DoD budget.

Whatever you do, don't click this link (studies show you're more likely if you shouldn't)
