Did Obama Make a Speech Recently? I Dont Remember...

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
Hey guys - Did Obama make some sort of big speech recently? I cant remember, and they're not saying anything about it on TV...

All they seem to be talking about is some hot chick from Alaska getting offered some job! Go Figure!!!

McCain has stopped the "Obamamania Express" dead in its tracks... Obama got zilch for coverage today, and people are realizing that the speech was truly insignificant because its coverage and hype just got body slammed by a girl!!!

If you need to confirm this fact in your head, just ask yourself where Obama and Biden are this evening - Beaver, Pennsylvania! If that isnt Freudian, I dont know what is... Even the CNN anchor Babe laughed when she read the name of the town on TV! Thats the best they can do after all their supposed momentum???

I dont know much about Sara Palin myself, but I got a feeling shes gonna be well liked and she will go toe to toe with Biden at their debate... She already looks 1000% better than ole Hairplugs Biden...

She is a political pick, obviously, but the Liberals on the TV are already falling into the trap of her looks and her gender, as well as McCains age and they look like sniveling little babies doing so... They will tear her down, and look ever the assholes doing so, and that will drive the independents to McCain...

Hell, I would say that on the experience front, Palin is just as experienced at Obama! At least she has some executive experience, and she has some sort of record as a public servant to run on!!! She even has a bit of scandal in her past, but I think it gives her some personable connections with those of us who are used to our politicians being a tad dirty...

But most importantly, she is a white woman - no doubt, this is what she is there for, and I believe she will do well in bringing independent and even some Hillary Feminazi voters over to McCain... Obama seems to have a negative effect on these voters (gee I wonder why!!!)

Anyway, I think its great that the McCain campaign has destroyed Obamas speech coverage and even bumped Gustav to the back burner...

This race is still Obamas to lose, though...

Maybe there IS a God...

:)

last night? how almost every channel suddenly stopped to broadcast some major news, what could it be? no it couldn't have been the DNC because obama gathering a crowd of 70,000 people in denver to give the most important speech of the year can't possibly be major news.

i just hope that they won't do the same thing when McCain holds the GOP

is TV hosts pummeling this pinjata from Alaska, damn what's her name again

you can see them thinking: Republicans did it again, nominate the "what the fuck candidate"

love how Matthews keeps repeating how she'll throw your ass in jail if you have an abortian

by callisto on 08/29/2008 09:34:26 PM EST

"If that isnt Freudian, I dont know what is..."

Then I guess you don't know what Freudian is.  It refers to making a mistake that says something about your unconscious thought process.  Not just some place's name that can be a double entendre.

And the rest of your post is similarly moronic.

too busy celebrating McCain's dumb-ass move to write too much of a response!!

She's a dope-smoking creationist with no foreign policy experience,  one heartbeat from the presidency.

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!

is getting desperate by picking the least most qualified canidate to win over pissed off hillary supporters. her political skills and experiance makes obama look like ted kennedy. she is probably not going to do anthing in office except force creationism down our throuts.

Pear, do you REALLY want to get into who is a dope smoker in this election cycle? Palin might have puffed the wacky weed, but god only knows how much coke and crack Obama does when no one is around... Hell, dope smoking seems to be becoming a prerequisite to the position - Clinton, GW... You guys go ahead and "pummel" Palin - I have a feeling she is going to win a lot of undecideds over simply because she's young, female, fresh and isn't a crackhead like someone else we know... :)

Obama has never said he smoked crack, so there goes that point for you.  All I'm saying is that the Repubs have to acknowledge that she has been a marijuana smoker.  I'm all for legalizing it myself!!  They can't attack Obama for it now.

I realize all of Palin's positives, but you can't escape the one GIGANTIC ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM.

She has no foreign policy experience and we have two wars going on.  A VP is supposed to be ready to take the helm if anything happens to the president (anthrax anyone? terrorist attack?).  Does she have that experience?  nope.  Sort of blows all her positives into oblivion, I'd say.

I suspect not.  You've even bought into his whole "crack smoking" thing.  Here's the shark.  See how you jump.

Why no one ever talks about McCain's rather obvious cocaine use.

The evidence is just as strong McCain used coke as Barak used crack.

with idiotic comments like

I believe she will do well in bringing independent and even some Hillary Feminazi voters over to McCain

With the economy taking the forefront, his choice of Palin who is  described as  "militantly " anti-choice and evangelical, is hardly the type of running mate that will endear herself to Hillary supporters. At least Romney had some economic credentials.

Hell, I would say that on the experience front, Palin is just as experienced at Obama! At least she has some executive experience, and she has some sort of record as a public servant to run on!!

No experience and limited appeal to disaffected Hillary supporters make the choice even more puzzling. One can only surmise that McCain is in worse trouble with the  Christian right than he lets on. Those are votes that he absolutely needs to come even close, obviously, and McCain chose the base.

She is a political pick, obviously, but the Liberals on the TV are already falling into the trap of her looks and her gender, as well as McCains age and they look like sniveling little babies doing so... They will tear her down, and look ever the assholes doing so, and that will drive the independents to McCain..

No more of sniveling little baby than you are. At least   &nbs p;   there not racists...like you. Does McCain think he can pick off a few Clinton supporters? He must, because he just gave away his best argument against Obama.

What is it exactly that the vice president does every day?”  Gov Sarah Palin  on CNBC.

Palin for VP with investigation on abuse of power...so fitting for the Republicans.

by army193 on 08/29/2008 10:09:23 PM EST

Did you notice that when Biden was selected by Obama there was nothing but a loud THUD! There was zero interest and zero excitement. Sarah Palin has the wow factor that is missing with Joe Chia Pet. The GOP base is fired up. The independents are excited. The Hillary lovers are very attracted to Sarah.

I read in an e-mail that she smoked crack, and there's nothing to say that she isn't still doing it.

Barack is smokin' crack! He wrote books about his long term addiction to drugs.

Can you prove that it's not true?

Sarah never wrote a book about drug use. Barack wrote a book about smoking crack, and associated genetic issues.

I forgot he wrote that book "The Joys of Smoking Crack: A Smoker's Tale".  You got me Ken.

But "associated genetic issues"?  What's that part mean?

I have his books.  I can't find that page, but please feel free to let me know where it is.

That does make more sense, now that you and Bias point it out.  I must be smoking too much hot.

You realize that Palin HAS smoked pot, right?  She pulled a page from your buddy Bill Clinton's book and admitted it.  Oh, now she can't possibly lose!

As in, "Wow, what the hell was he thinking?!"  That's what the buzz is.

Do you really think Hillary loyalists are going to go for a younger, prettier, less substantive (remember, they cared about credentials, that's one of the reasons they cited for liking Hillary over Barack), anti-woman's-choice version of Hillary?  That's mental.  They'll see it as an overt pandering attempt.  This is going to backfire, big time.

The ploy would have worked better last week, before Hillary's speech.

You liberals think that people vote on issues and polic - you must remember this is NOT THE CASE!!!

Many of these so called Hillary voters are gonna see one thing - that Palin has a vagina - and thats good enough for a lot of them.

Plus shes not black, and doesnt have a Muslim name like Barack - thats a real biggie to a lot of women voters, Hillary or otherwise...

Go ahead and throw the "racist" label on me, but the more you call the Hillary voters racist and "Low Info" the more they will run to a newbie like Palin...

Mark My Words!

The old man was staring at his latest MILF with very presidential ambitions. I must say that she's got the entire package going on.

I'll vote for McCain just to see her take it ass when the old man croaks and she's got to fight Putin in the next few years.

McCain want's to attack Russia to prove he doesn't need Viagra to get a hard on. When he gets the heart attack in the oval office from her blowing him under the desk, she'll have to take the helm.

The oil company execs who put her in as VP will get what they wanted, all of Alaska and the Dems won't say a word. They'll think that if they give her the rest of ol' McCain's term to run the country down even further they'll finally beat those pesky voting machines.

by tdpubs on 08/29/2008 10:39:06 PM EST

So Palin has more experience than Obama because she has 'executive experience'?

Man, that's awesome! I didn't realize that the only experience that counts is executive. That means that Obama and McCain have the SAME level of experience AND Obama has better judgment.

Also, so wait if McCain stopped the speech talk today? THIRTY EIGHT MILLION PEOPLE watched the speech last night. Does anyone really think that most low-info voters (the types who haven't yet fully made up their minds) are sitting with popcorn watching hour after hour of McCain VP coverage on cable news on the Friday before Labor Day?

HINT: No. It's mostly only us political junkies paying attention today. Most others are either buzzing from Obama's brilliant speech last night and or they're traveling, BBQ'ng, making plans, drinking beers and so on.

How is your mental infirmities supposed to have anything to with Obama's speech?

by bfaul on 08/29/2008 10:59:08 PM EST

who cares what they are doing today

"NEW YORK -- Barack Obama's audience for his acceptance speech likely topped 40 million people, and the Democratic gathering that nominated him was a more popular television event than any other political convention in history.

More people watched Obama speak from a packed stadium in Denver on Thursday than watched the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, the final "American Idol" or the Academy Awards this year, Nielsen Media Research said Friday. (Four playoff football games, including the Super Bowl between the Giants and Patriots, were seen by more than 40 million people.)

His TV audience nearly doubled the amount of people who watched John Kerry accept the Democratic nomination to run against President Bush four years ago. Kerry's speech was seen by a little more than 20 million people; Bush's acceptance speech to GOP delegates had 27.6 million viewers."

----Palin pick easy to crush

"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies -- that's not the change we need, it's just more of the same."-- Bill Burton

Sen. Chuck Schumer says:

"After the great success of the Democratic convention, the choice of Sarah Palin is surely a Hail Mary pass. It is a real roll of the dice and shows how John McCain, Karl Rove et al realize what a strong position the Obama-Biden team and Democrats in general are in in this election. Certainly the choice of Palin puts to rest any argument about inexperience on the Democratic team"

Rep. Rahm Emanuel:

"Is this really who the Republican Party wants to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency? Given Sarah Palin's lack of experience on every front and on nearly every issue, this Vice Presidential pick doesn't show judgment: it shows political panic."

Barbara Boxer:

The vice president is a heartbeat away from becoming president, so to choose someone with not one hour's worth of experience on national issues is a dangerous choice.

"If John McCain thought that choosing Sarah Palin would attract Hillary Clinton voters, he is badly mistaken."

"The only similarity between her and Hillary Clinton is that they are both women. On the issues, they could not be further apart."

" Sen. McCain had so many other options if he wanted to put a woman on his ticket, such as Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Olympia Snowe -- they would have been an appropriate choice"

Meanwhile, the non-partisan group Campaign Money Watch responded that the pick underscores McCain's loss of maverick reformer credentials:

"In choosing Governor Palin, Senator McCain is clearly trying to shore up his past maverick reformer image - an image that is now in tatters due to the type of campaign he's run and the big money lobbyists he depends on every day of the week,"
