Has the surge truly worked?

This is a documentary by a journalist who went to Bagdad to see for himself whether or not the surge has transformed the city like the American media claims.

Here are the youtube links to the documentary. It's quite short but to-the-point and well worth a look, if for nothing else then to get an eyes on the ground view of the situation:

Here's some help with the links. I watched these, you should too. If you can get through all three without tearing up or feel a heaviness in your soul, you're of a different species than I am.

Part 1     Part 2      Part 3

Also, these clips originated from The Guardian Films site which is WELL worth your time to visit if you want news that America doesn't show. From minute long stories for the attention span challenged to full documentaries, this site is a treasure trove for those interested in current events.

Thanks, Kreegath.

I watched. Actually, I had been looking for videos like these from Iraq for years. I didn't look too hard, but still, these are the first I've seen like this. Indeed they make you feel sad and angry. Thing is, even if you ACCEPT the government propaganda, it still doesn't make sense. Even if the surge was successful in reducing violence, so what?  If the objective was to reduce violence, why did we start the war in the first place?  Then when you learn that the propaganda has the added problem of being false, all you can feel is utter despair.

That last video breaks my heart.

Thanks so much for the links, and thanks to Tim for the Guardian Films link as well.

I clicked the "Recommend It" button on the side for whatever that's worth.
