Steve "the Bullet" Schmidt drags McCain into the gutter

In an earlier post I urged you get to know your new friend, Steve Schmidt, Karl Rove's protege and John McCain's Karl Rove. He is the one responsible for the Spears/Moses series of ads. Maureen O'Dowd has a column in the times today outlining why John McCain is GREEN with ENVY. Why? Not because Obama is "too cool for school". He's just cool. And, sad day for you, McCain is not. Says O'Dowd:

"Schmidt has turned Mr. Straight Talk into Mr. Desperate Straits. It’s not a good trade."

Good job Schmidt! Meaningless personal attack ads are apparently the only thing that the media cares about, because its the first time they talked about McCain negatively. We sure this guy isn't a double agent for the dems?

McCain's prospective veep candidate agrees with you. He wants to see a positive campaign. <maniacal laughter>

Make no mistake, John McCain hired this guy because the only way he can win is with a sustained campaign of lies, innuendo, and cheap tricks. He needs the meaningless personal attack ads, but he's just not good at it. That's where his little pit bull comes in. I'm just glad to see Schmidt's name cropping up with increasing frequency in the MSM. Before long he will become a bigger distraction for McCain's campaign than anything he could hope to dream up for Obama.
