Marylander's against slots......puh-lease

If you like this story, digg it!
As a resident of the beautiful state of Maryland I have watched for the past 4+ years this huge quite frankly stupid debate about if slots should be allowed in the horse race tracks around Maryland. The last governer of this great state spent his entire four years in office working ( what seemed like the only issue he ever worked on ) on trying to get slots into our state. Forget the issues about health care or the Chesapeake Bay. We must have slots!!!! blah blah blah is what I say.
Now here we are again facing the issue of allowing Maryland to have slots. Some are for it, others are against it. I can see the point on both sides of the spectrum on this issue. But should we spend another four years on this debate? No we should not.
Yesterday I saw an ad against slots and I just had to burst out laughing. It was urging people to join their cause to not have slots in Maryland because they are "against their morals". You know what I think strip clubs are wrong and so does alot of people. But you dont see me or anyone else up against the boobie bars. We think that they are "morally wrong" so guess what we do? We dont go to places like that. I mean come on people common sence.
Now instead of constantly bickering back and forth about slot machines we should focus on other issues. Health care for all Marylander's. Sky rocketing electric bills, and the Chesapeake Water Shed.
