A couple days ago Cenk talked about the Paris Hilton response ad to McCain's ad that used her and Ms. Spears' images.  Cenk is obviously a Hilton surrogate.

First of all, Ms. Hilton's ad would have been much more entertaining if she were at least 35 years old.  As we know, there is no chance she can be president, so when she announces her candidacy, despite the fact that we know she has no intention of actually running (though she may not know she is not legally eligible), it does not pack the punch that, say, Stephen Colbert's candidacy did.  It had no teeth, as they say, even in the realm of comedy.


Second, the evidence that Mr. Uygur is a Hilton hack is in the content of his analysis.  The overriding issue, in Hilton's ad, apart from McCain being old, is an issue on which, previously, Mr. Uygur had had a completely different position.  He has said on his show more than once that the oil from offshore drilling does not go to the American people, and in fact, could be sold by Exxon to foreign nations such as China.  Hilton's energy plan would include domestic drilling, and Mr. Uygur, when his position came into contrast with his admitted favorite celebrity, did not denounce and reject Hilton, but rather reversed his own position.


Does Cenk Uygur want a 26-year-old person to be president, in violation the constitution?


What cabinet position does he vie for in her cabinet?


Does he secretly work for Exxon?

I know the post is being sarcastic, as was Cenk's support for Hilton (I hope).  But, I just want to say, and this is only related to this topic peripherally, that I do not get what guys see in Paris Hilton.  She's not sexy.  She's not "hot".  She's actually pretty disgusting.  Sorry.

There are two measures for attractive.  Do not conflate the two.

One is for everyday life.  If I saw Paris Hilton in front of me in the grocery store checkout would I check her out? Of course!

But that is a lot different than girls who are hot for a living (models, actresses, singers and do-nothing celebrities).  She is very much on the low end of the spectrum for a professionally hot girl.

But you got to understand it drives me crazy.

Without acknowledging the two tiered hotness system you have to say that pretty much all female celebrities are hot because some douche bag is gonna start comparing them to the girl walking down the street and of course the low end professionally hot celebrity is hotter than the girl walking down the street so then we end up with a bland, uninteresting and misleading conclusion that all celebrity girls (give or take a few) or hot because they are in the top 10% nationally even if they are in the bottom 2% of the professionally hot.

I hope you can see why this drives me crazy.

I mean how am I supposed to explain the insane hotness of a Kournikova or an Alba if some jerkoff keeps insisting that Khloe Kardashian is prettier than most of the girls on the bus.  You lose all perspective it doesn't work!

Its like how scientists use the Fahrenheit system for the weather, but the Kelvin system when talking about space and other planets.  It wouldn't make any sense to do the news weather forecast in Kelvins, you would have no perspective.

(How was that for a borderline unhinged rant?)

Though you have to admit Paris is a lot brighter than people take her to be.  Unlike other young Hollywood starlets who can't handle the fame and blow it on drugs, weird personality disorders and religious cults, Paris runs a tight ship.  I think I see a second set coming in off the horizon and if Paris rides this wave right, I predict big sales for her upcoming sophomore album.
