Sarah Palin got a D in macroeconomics

I'm sure pointing this out makes me an elitist.

I got an A in macroeconomics (it was one of the easiest, and most useful classes I ever took.)  Sarah Palin has freely admitted that she got a D in this class.

This lady is right up the Republicans alley when it comes to their desire to appeal to stupid people.  But as Dave likes to point out, people like her.  They wanna have a beer with her and wear the same glasses.  She seems like the kind of chick you'd want to bullshit with at the hair salon, right?

I want to point out something about the bridge to nowhere.  I'm probably the only person in the liberal or conservative blogobubbles to point this out, but the bridge actually would go to an airport, so it's technically not "nowhere."  The bigger factor that was probably driving the project was that it would have allowed real estate development on the adjoining island to Ketchikan.

Anyway the point of my rant is that Palin was definitely on board with the Bridge to Nowhere, probably because she was getting help from developers and definitely to try to win votes in Ketchican (about 10,000 people).  For her to come out now and claim that she had no interest in it is so obviously false.

Here's a good story from AP on the bridge.

That bridge wasn't even such a bad thing (shhh, don't tell the media), it's the fact she takes whatever position is politically convenient that is the problem

with someone who got a D in Macroeconomics.  No wonder she had to hire a city manager to run Wasilla.

I would sure like to see transcripts from McCain and Palin, and Obama and Biden also, for that matter.

Well yeah but people actually like that. There was a line in the awesome show "The West Wing" during a presidential where the staff is concerned that the president appears too smart: "Most people weren't the smartest kid in the class; most people didn't *like* the smartest kid in the class"

I'm just waiting for the Republican ad:

"Barack Obama, has a degree in International relations from Columbia, and he graduated magna cum lauda from Haaaarvard, and he actually taught constitutional law - Is that a man we can trust to leeeeead ? Governor Palin had to go to 4 schools to find one which would give her a degree, and Senator McCain graduated in the bottom 6% of his class - I'm John McCain and I approve this message"

I actually read a comment about liberals the other day calling them "over educated"

wow, I did not know that being over educated was even possible. Let alone being used as a slur... welcome to America:)

In summary: How dare you point out Sarah "in-what-respect-Charlie" Palin's bad grades!!!!!!

Stop being over educated elitists! I happen to want D students running the country, just look at how well our C student has done in the last 8 years, bravo!

The economy is fundamentally strong.

You are bleeding sarcasm sir, bleeding.

But me joking aside, what in the the world do these two idiots think they are doing?  I had  co-worker the other day tell me he was voting for McCain simply because he thought Obama would hesitate in an aggressive foreign&nbs p;relations situation. And I yelled at him! I brought up our economy and how the combined intellect of McCain/Palin combined, is substantially less than half then that of Obama.  It was horribly frustrating, I threw out every point in the book, and to me they just seem obvious.  I wanted to punch him so badly, *sigh*.  I know you hear this kind of shit all the time, but, if the Republicans win, fuck Canada!  I'll move to Iceland, and I'll row all the way there!

you took economics with an easy professor.  i remember my macro teacher gave A's if you got between 100-80% in his class.  and NO ONE got an A.  one guy got close in my class got close, but not quite.

that devil's advocate tirade aside, i agree.  republicans seem to be proud of their ignorance as if it's some sort of symbol of pride for them.

i are dumb just like you am!
