Another "Oh my God" Sarah Palin moment

I know there's already been too many of these posts, but she's in so deep, so clearly over her head that it's bound to keep on happening until November.

I watched this little snippet of video from the Katie Couric interview where she asks Palin what she means when she cites Russia's proximity to Alaska as part of her foreign policy experience.  It is a gotcha' kind of question.  There is no good answer because it is a patently absurd claim.  I'm very glad Couric pressed her on it because such fraudulent arguments should be confronted early and often.  Her answer is one of those "Oh my God" moments where you kind of writhe in embarrasment for her.

McCain was a jerk to do this to her.  I wonder if it ever occurred to him what might happen to her reputation when he made this snap decision if it went bad?  On the other hand, she was a fool to accept his invitation to join the ticket.  I would feel sorry for her but for her statement that she had no hesitation in accepting his offer.  Looking like a chump is one of the dangers you risk when you display this kind of arrogance.  A job like vice president (or God help us, president) requires skill and education that must be honed over a period of years.  What kind of person says "Yes!" to such a thing on the spur of the moment without thinking about it carefully?  You can't pick this stuff up in 3 months.  Didn't the presidency of Bush teach McCain anything at all?  An unusually gifted leader might, just might, be able to pull it off through sheer force of will and by being an unusually astute student of human nature and foreign affairs.  This woman does not appear very gifted in any particular respect.  Her sole function seems to be to embody the right-wing extremist viewpoint.  They could have picked any one of a million people for that purpose.  For all their new-found concern over sexism it's looking more and more like she was chosen for her right-wing vews and her looks, and I'm not sure it wasn't the latter they felt was more important.

She'd better pray that Biden doesn't have a mean bone in his body when he debates her.  Sarcasm and contempt will get you only so far and it's much tougher to employ them when there's no set script to rely on and you don't have a reservoir of knowledge to fall back on.

well, that's not the bit you are referring to, just another portion of the interview, so people will still have to follow your link for the Russia experience part--it is DEFINITELY worth watching!!

This woman is badly fumbling.

Drat!  That dirty rotten scoundrel bfaul cheated by beating me to the punch!

Well, maybe I should have read the blog titles before I posted my article "Watch Palin's Mind At Work".

I tried and tried to delete your post so I could keep mine up, but I just couldn't find a way.  I'd even hoped to bribe Cenk, but I guess I had the wrong phone number.  I'll let it slide this time.  But the next time you beat me with a post, it'll be WAR!

She's a stuttering Stanley.  Does her voice always sound on the verge of tears like that?  Or only when she tries to simultaneously fit every single economic policy issue into one misguided answer?
