More spin and half-truths, what a surprise.  Can the Republicans be trusted to tell Americans the truth about ANYTHING?

There is some indication they meant to put a backdrop of the Walter Reed Medical Center behind McCain, but instead they obtained a photo of Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood, California and used that.

"ABC News says the McCain camp isn't commenting. If they meant for the image to be Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood, I'm sure we'd all love to hear why that fine school was selected for such an honor.

Between the lack of vetting on Sarah Palin and the botched presentation this decade week to the American people, the McCain camp would be well-advised to "do the google" a little more often. Let's hope they have plenty of time to explore the world wide web in November and beyond."

I am not entirely convinced McCain wants to be president.

I do think the nomination took them all by surprise.

The fact remains that he still could win, which, paired with the fact that he has tried so hard to LOSE, makes me want to leave America for a place where humans have more common sense.

But I'm feeling better about the election since McCain's speech.  He's getting scared to death that people will (rightly) associate him with Bush, especially with that clip of him saying he votes with the President 90% of the time.  It's time for him to be on the defensive for a change.  Also defensive with his statements about his base, the media.

His speech was hilarious.  He's suddenly turned into Changey McChangerson.

Most-watched political convention in American history (warning republican viewpoint)

I'm claiming voter (Neilson) fraud.

At least people got to see that awesome (yawn) speech McCain gave last night.

They wrote this:

After lackluster showings in viewership at the beginning of the week, the Republican National Convention bounced back on Wednesday and Thursday, making it the most-watched political convention in American history

This year the Republicans averaged 34.5 million viewers over three nights (Monday's program was shortened and not counted because of Hurricane Gustav) while the Democrats averaged 30.2 million viewers over four nights.

Does this paper have editors?

How fucking stupid are these people?

Apparently this was written by the same moron who tried to tell everyone Hillary got more votes than Obama for a while there.

One person called it as they saw it.  "Shockingly bad."

Tim mentioned in the formerly known as open thread thread about Henry Rollins being on MtB. Where can I watch a replay of that?  I loves me some Hank.
