A Palestinian elbow from the sky (and it's not from Hamas)

Mustafa Barghouti is an activist, politician and Presidential candidate (came in second to Abbas in 2005) that doesn't get much mention in the American media. But he should. He's leader of the Palestinian National Initiative, an alternative to corrupt Fatah and militant Hamas.

In Egypt's Al-Ahram Weekly, he weighs in on the crisis in Gaza.

There really doesn't need to be any added commentary. Just read it. You've been wondering where are the Gandhis and Dr. Kings in Palestine, the voices of non-violent civil disobedience - you got one here.

Unfortunately, he's being held in an Israeli jail. (Edited; I missed that part of the news.)

But you can still make powerful statements from jail. Dr. King did.
