Sambo the elephant
This one is pure human interest, sue me :)The first video of Sambo is a report from Al Jazeera English, and I noticed the grooves on her lower legs.
This second video is amateur video, also of Sambo, and you can see why the grooves are there. Her owner is making her a new set of sandals, thick leather pads to protect her feet from the pavement. Note how patiently she stands there while he trims the leather pads to size and ties them in place.
I would also add that this amateur video is of surprisingly good quality, and includes some nice views of Phnom Penh, a city I have never visited myself.
