Sarah Palin Supporters Interviewed at Borders Book Signing

A YouTube video of Sarah Palin supporters trying to answer political questions (and failing miserably).

Sorry if this has been posted already. Chase Whiteside from New Left Media recently attended a Sarah Palin book-signing and interviewed several of Palin's supporters on various political issues. The results are documented in the following video. God help us!

Did you spot them? At 37 seconds into the video, our very own Bobo1 (why does he keep leaning from side to side? Does he have to pee?). At 1:37, a surprisingly honest KenTX shows up and offers us a rare peek at his inner workings. And at 3:11, it's Twba (TheArseAlsoKnownAsQwerty), who overheard the words "Marxism," "Lenninism" and "socialism" just 15 minutes before being interviewed and decided to have a go at using all three. If he sounds a little impatient during his interview, it's because he's in a hurry to go home and screw his bikini model.

Gee, thanks, OneHit, for turning a political discussion into a personal attack. That's just so helpful of you.

Returning to the actual subject of the thread, these are some amazingly stupid replies. A few of my favorites -

"When you're right, you don't have to compromise. Compromise is for people who are wrong."

Wrong, you flunk high school civics. Our nation was founded upon a compromise, which is why we have a bicameral legislature.

***

"That state that she governed, it was right across the street from Russia...and I'm sure she's had to deal with boundary issues..."

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, and assume he meant "strait", as in the Bering Strait. But not even knowing the name of Alaska, and thinking that international boundary disputes would be handled by a State government? This guy also failed high school civics, and probably geography as well.

*******

Well, OK, on the upside, two points.

First, this was in Columbus Ohio. WTF do you really expect from a bunch of Midwestern hicks?

Second, we have all seen these "people are so dumb" videos, over and over. For all we know, they edited out the intelligent replies. Yeah, I know, intelligent replies from Sarah Palin supporters, but I'm in a generous mood :)

Thanks so much for turning a political discussion into an attack on midwesterners!

Its sooooo helpful of you

anywho back to the discussion

The idea that there where any intelligent replies to edit out coming from people standing in line at a Palin book signing is laughable.

They are going to sound the same no matter where the line is

:)

A conservative believes nothing should be done for the first time

Gee, thanks, OneHit, for turning a political discussion into a personal attack.

I'm not here to be fair and balanced.

I'm surprised that the people who want to buy her book can even read.

Most of the people interviewed are just repeating Repub talking points.  They sound like they watch Fox News all the time.  This means they are an uninformed audience.  When asked to go into detail, they start looking retarded.

Just goes to show that birds of the same feather.......

You know, Sampson, just because they're buying the book, doesn't mean they can read :)

If you hadn't I was going to.   I think this video is fascinating.   I'm going to refrain from using the word stupid to describe what these people are saying.   It isn't about stupid, it's about indoctrination.   It makes me realize that not only is Palin uninformed about things like domestic policy and American history and foreign policy and world history, she doesn't want to be informed, doesn't see it as a necessity or even a particularly good thing, and in a strange way it makes sense.   The support she enjoys from these people does not depend on any of that.   They are clearly uninterested in detail.   They do not know what her policy is, and more interestingly, they do not seem to want to know.   She's one of them, her mind is "right" and they'd vote for her on that basis.   You can tell that they listen to the right-wing punditry, and appropriately enough, to Fox "News". &nbs p; Particulars are completely beside the point.   It's all about the narrative.  I was intrigued by the way they wave off specific information and questions, as though they couldn't be bothered with that stuff, nor did inconvenient facts deter them.  After I watched this video it got me thinking.  The only thing that might alter the perception these people have is profound, catastrophic failure.    To shake their faith in Palin she would have to be elected and we would have to go through something truly horrendous like a world war or another great depression so that they suffered horrible deprivations of some sort, and even then I'm convinced many would not see it.   After all, did they learn from Bush's failures?

Before simpletons like these can alter their beliefs, they must re-examine them. Before they can re-examine their beliefs, they must articulate them and thereby find the inconsistencies therein. That first step seems to be the impenetrable barrier. They are not in full command of their communication skills, so they cannot help themselves by verbalizing their own misunderstandings.

go see:

and look for related videos.

plenty of dumfucks voted for borat without any idea of what they were voting for. palin supporters have not cornered the market on retardation---american dumfucks, on the other hand, have.

if you want to solve the problem of a clueless electorate, first get rid of universal adult franchise. voting rights should be given only to those who can pass a civics knowledge examination. otherwise, you can resign yourselves to going through the agony and anguish, every four years, of a bushpalin swaying the populace with folksy "charm" and good-natured "wink-wink", and then fuck this country and its constitution back into naziland.

The video you gave had leading questions and an obviously liberal interviewer.

The original post showed a video with completely unbiased questions, and got even stupider answers.
