Fast Company article on TYT

I loved this article.  I always wanted to know how much TYT costs to produce, and how much revenue they bring in.  The YouTube number shocked me.

The paragraph that really got me though:

"What's next for TYT? "Launch a network," says Uygur. "We're crazy cheap." He notes they already have the studio and the equipment to produce another show. It would just take a couple more crew members and a new producer. The model is proven. YouTube is equipped. The TYT brand is ready to expand. Uygur hopes to launch at least one new show in the next three months."

 Wait a minute...WAIT A MINUTE!

I love it, and that's quite a big revelation about starting a new show. I wonder what they have cooking. Incidentally the discussion of Cenk's (lack of) health care insurance in the context of being a "modestly profitable business" got me wondering. Cenk has strong opinions on health insurance, but how does this relate to his behavior as a business owner and employer? Are the turks covered, or is there an informal agreement to have everybody on the insurance of their significant others? Is that question out of bounds? I've always been curious to know how he deals with such a sticky issue, and whether its even practical for him to put his money where his mouth is.

But you should transfer these comments to the official write-up here.

Thanks for the link.

I used to think there weren't a lot of people watching/listening to TYT, but now I feel like a drop in the ocean.  This little show that I used to feel was my own private thing is now poised to launch a fucking network!?  Crazy...

It makes me feel old.  I've spent way too much of my life on this site.

Sigh...

Go get 'em, TYT!

Thanks again.

Where do I go to subscribe to the second show?

I can't afford another subscription. Shit, I can't even afford this one.

Hopefully the new thing will come with my regular TYT subscription.

So don't worry about it.  I'll try to keep you informed on what happens in the member's only secret parts.

(Hehehe!  That's one out of my way.  Now all I have to do is get rid of a few thousand more, and that coveted first membership is mine!  Mine, I tell you, all mine!!! BwuaHAHAHAhahahahahaaaaa!)
