If Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis was a GOP strategist...

... he might say something like this after his team turns in another disappointing performance, like last night's loss to Stanford. (And imagine how long he'd have his job if he actually did make a statement like this. If only politics could be more like the NCAA...)
"The Notre Dame Fighting Irish is the greatest team in the history football, and we're still the greatest. Don't believe the media; they're obviously biased towards secular state universities like Florida, Alabama or Texas. They're rabid anti-God liberals who want a good Catholic school like ND to fail. They've taken over the BCS, the AP, USA Today, ESPN, and sad to say, even the "fair and balanced" FOX Sports at times.
Facts are facts: we're failing because we're playing compromised liberal football like all the other teams do when we should be sticking to the conservative principles of the great Ronald Reagan--I mean Knute Rockne which made us great. We've got to bring back the leather helmets and drop kicks. Any player that refuses to do it our way must be called out, as he is a FIINO.
We have a 6-6 record this year. That means we're winning half the time, which is just 0.1% percent short of a majority. With Dameservatives rightly running the AP and Coaches' Poll, the BCS just might do the right thing and put us in the national championship game. But the same traitors, including some so-called "Irish fans", want to "reform" the BCS to make it more "fair", which we all know is just affirmative action and reparations for TCU and Boise State to alleviate their liberal football guilt.
We know what we must do. We must stay the course, even if we finish 0-12, which doesn't matter because we're still the best team in the world. Leave self-criticism and working on "fundamentals"&am

sp;to the University of France; our fundamentals are just fine. We will always win one for the Gipper."
