Cory Booker should run for Governor next time

The guy is a phenom, he could easily beat Christie.

However you want to look at it, Cory is the natural choice to challenge Christie.

Booker did a better than expected job in Newark and he came off lame yet engaging on the Tonight Show with Conan Obrien.

Just because he's black, are you?

Check his background - the Newark political machine is almost as crooked and corrupt as the one in Chicago...

In other words, he would have done very well....

"Post Racial" world my ass....

was inherited from Sharpe James, the former mayor who is now in jail. I grew up in the Newark area and follow this closely. Sharpe James had setup a 20 year old political fifedom that was designed to pay homage to him. Booker has torn all of that up, fired many political cronies, and has put the citizens of Newark first. The whole political structure in that city hated him because of it. He has even won them over and continues to do an excellent job. Maybe YOU should check your facts Mr. racist bobo before deflecting your racist attitudes.

you're the only one to mention race here, so you can't complain that people aren't being "post racial" (whatever that means).

I hate to bring this up, but there's a movie (a documentary no less) about this guy getting into office and railing against what you just accused him of.

This could be why youre considered either horribly misinformed or racist--if youre being misinformed, just tell us who youre getting the information from and we can walk you through it.

Especially after the 4 years of gridlock that is to come in NJ. I already heard the question asked by some fool in the MSM, "Will New Jersey now turn down stimulus funds"? Can you believe it? This state has a LOT of fiscal problems AND has to have a balanced budget evey year. Corzine just happenned to become govenor when many of these problems came to a head. The dude had nothing but bad choices. No wonder he was not liked. I'm surprised he even ran for re-election with all of the fiscal problems that are coming down the pike. This election was about killing the messenger more than anything else. Obama is beloved in NJ, so it was certainly not about him. If Christie tries to govern here like a rightwing zealot from Alabama or something, he will run into a buzzsaw. The NJ legislature is as blue as it gets. I don't see how anything gets done over the next 4 years. In fact, they'd better get all of the progressive legislation they can in front of Corzine before he leaves.

Booker would be a great choice for Gov. He has done wonders for the cesspool that is Newark, NJ. Race would be a factor though, as NJ has a whole lot of closet bigots. After, Christie finishes wrecking the state though, they might be ready to elect of Gov. of color here.
