Bachmann teabagger owes life to govt run health care

Dana Milbank (of all people) provides some funny ironic details about the Bachmann teabag protest on Thursday.

Apparently as Boehner was quoting from the "Constitution" a man in the crowd was being saved by government run health care.

"...[A] man standing just beyond the TV cameras apparently suffered a heart attack 20 minutes after event began. Medical personnel from the Capitol physician's office -- an entity that could, quite accurately, be labeled government-run health care -- rushed over, attaching electrodes to his chest and giving him oxygen and an IV drip.

This turned into an unwanted visual for the speakers, as a D.C. ambulance and firetruck, lights flashing, pulled in just behind the lawmakers. A path was made through the media section, and the patient, attended to by about 10 government medical personnel, was being wheeled away on a stretcher just as House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) stepped to the microphone. "Join us in defeating Pelosi care!" he exhorted. A few members stole a glance at the stretcher. Boehner may have been distracted as well. He told the crowd he would read from the Constitution, then read the "we hold these truths" bit from the Declaration of Independence."

I wish I were there with a bullhorn.  A dashing "hero" I would be, swooping in to block off those dirty socialist paramedics from coming near this man.  Standing over this man's body I would proclaim into the bullhorn to anyone who would listen that this man did not want government healthcare under any circumstances!  After all, letting this man get treated would be tyranny and socialism!  Fucking idiots..........

That crowd continued to cheer for Boehner.  Boehner continued to rail against public health care, and the medics had to listen to it as they saved a man's life.  There is general callousness and hypocrisy, and then there is this--on the steps of a revered American institution, no less.

John Boehner should be forcibly tied at the hip to this moment for the rest of his career and life.   The highest elected Republican lawmaker using hallowed ground to demagogue against government health care reform under a poster of a Nazi death camp while the government was literally saving someone's life in his field of vision.

The mainstream media will botch this, like always.  All of the coverage will focus on the fact that Michelle Bachmann was able to command thousands to protest at the capital, or that this was further proof of the energized Conservative base, or the coverage will focus on laughing at the gaffes of the Pledge of Allegiance and Boehner quoting from the wrong document.  The real story is this _outrage_ perpetrated by John Boehner.  He should not ever get another mention in the media on this subject, unless it reads "House Minority Leader John Boehner, who despicably continued to stoke fear and anger during the exact moments when the object of his vitriol was a few yards away, helping someone stay alive, said the following today..."

We have to stay on this point and completely destroy his reprehensible name whenever we see any source treating him like a harmless loyal opposition.  This is 10 steps wayyyyyyy over the line.
