TYT December Membership Drive (Free Gifts!)

Tube socks? Re-gifted Christmas sweaters? Ramen Noodles? These are just a few of the horrible gifts you may have received (or given) during a past holiday season. 2009 will be different when you get yourself or someone you care about the awesome and unique gift of The Young Turks (Voted Best Political Podcast & News Site Of 2009). Because in addition to unlimited access to hours of video/audio content on politics, entertainment, sports and pop culture, you’ll get something extra in return (shipped to you at no cost), including cool TYT apparel, books and even Apple iProducts*!

-Basic Level Membership is only $10 a month, AKA $2.50 a week or 50 cents a show Monday-Friday, and that includes the uncensored, no-holds barred (Member's Only) Post Game Show with Cenk and Ana Kasparian. Sign-up this month and receive your choice of a cool black hoody with the TYT logo or an FM Wireless Transmitter (that'll allow you to listen to TYT through your car stereo) or some women's apparel with the TYT logo. Of course if you go with a higher level membership, not only will you be supporting non-corporate, honest news and analysis, you’ll also receive some pretty amazing gifts.

-Lieutenant Level Membership ($25 a month) which nets you a sporty TYT duffel bag OR the FM Transmitter along with either the TYT hoody or TYT women's apparel.

-Captain Level Membership ($50 a month), you'll get a 2GB iPod Shuffle with a personalized engraving ("I Love TYT" to "Ana Rocks" or something completely unrelated to the show).

-Colonel Level Membership ($100 a month) you'll receive a 8GB iPod Nano with the engraving of your choice (2 lines, up to 27 characters per line) along with an FM Wireless Transmitter. For a personal touch, we will also send you a collection of our favorite books, music CDs and movie DVDs selected by the TYT staff! Gifts from the lower levels are also available.

-(New!) Lt. General Level Membership ($250 a month) for which you'll receive a 160GB iPod Classic with the engraving of your choice (2 lines, up to 27 characters per line) with an FM Wireless Transmitter. Gifts from the lower levels are also available.

-General Level Membership ($1,000 a month) for which you'll Receive a 1.86GHz MacBook Air laptop with an FM Wireless Transmitter. Gifts from the lower levels are also available.

*Note: Two months of membership required for gifts in the Captain level and above.

I think I just figured out what to get those last couple of people left on my list!

by AaronWysocki on 12/14/2009 07:50:55 PM EST

I need to get started on those first couple of people! But seriously, this podcast is perfect for those who want a daily dose of news, politics and entertainment while they commute, exercise or clean (etc.). When I took the train to work it was the only thing I looked forward to, and now I listen to it in the car with a wireless transmitter which is a great change of pace from music/the mediocre stuff on the radio (plus no commercials is always nice).

I gotta admit free stuff is always cool, but i see how it is. I finually pony up the money for a membership in November only to miss out on the goodies :P I knew i should have waited lol.

No seriously though Anyone looking for testimonials need only look here. I joined in November watched every day and never regreted it. As a person who likes to hear both sides of a debate before making up my own mind, this show offers clear opinions that matter in the days stories big and small giving the veiwer/listener the other side of the stories that people like rush, beck and others on the right do not offer. It's nice to have a counter voice to the debates that will affect us all in one form or another. If you are still on the fence get it and you will see Left right middle this show will meet your needs and surpass them.

Thank you TYT for your dedication and hard work, keep it up.

I'm thinking of becoming a member, just wondering if I'll get a shirt since I'm living in the UK?

by Hasser on 12/15/2009 11:57:11 AM EST

I'll update the blog to state that TYT will cover the shipping costs.

Yummy...and it's sell by date is 2019!when you consider the alternatives.

Are there gift memberships? Something like 3 months or something. If not they should consider creating one. Probably sell a lot more and they use it as a hook for a year add on later.

I've suggested this in the past but apparently it's a logistical nightmare, or something like that...

With due respect, logistical nightmare = I don't want to be bothered.

Unless the are useing 10 key adding machines , green eyeshades and carbon paper in the business office, that excuse doesn't cut it in the data age

I agree we should have more options and I'll leave it at that.

by sureup on 12/15/2009 01:16:34 PM EST

I'm a poor student and I've been wanting to subscribe for a long time so this just enticed me more! Good idea TYT <3 Finally I can get the whole show, I'm excited.

by Neish on 12/15/2009 07:14:30 PM EST

I have let my membership go bust for a few months now, guess it is time to get my TYT back!

by Chargrad on 12/15/2009 08:59:41 PM EST

Already a member, already got the TYT t-shirt (the most comfortable shirt in the world), but where can I BUY the TYT hoody that comes as a gift for new members???  I didn't see it listed in the TYT store...

by hiboost on 12/16/2009 11:15:16 PM EST

I'm not 100% on that though.

I just want to give a big shout out and a big "Thanks" to alfreeland. I received a gift membership from this member and I am very grateful.

I've been unemployed since January, it's been a pretty rough 2009 for me, but I'm hanging in there.

I'm not a very sentimental person and for myself the holiday season is very annoying and has become a tremendous inconvenience through the years.

As corny as it may sound, I have received a bit of optimism from alfreeland's act of giving. I've never received a gesture like this from a total stranger before, this is somewhat of a new experience for me and a very pleasing moment.

I like it.

For alfreeland's act of kindness, I say thank you once again and lets all hope for better days in 2010.. we could all use it.

for a basic membership, I'd like a medium size hoodie and my address is on my paypal which I used to pay for the subscription.

My gift membership expires in January, but I'm glad to pony up to keep it going. I'm TYT for life.

I just got signed up.  Told my wife to get it for me for Christmas, and she did.  Yay!

Sent an email with the correct email and gift information.
