NYP monkey cartoon: Racist? Irrelevant
The New York Post monkey cartoon
Is the cartoon racist?
My opinion is that you're all knucklehead for thinking that's relevant at all
What's relevant is that the cartoon is intentionally on the fence and ambiguous for a reason...press.
Now everyone is talking about this cartoon and the New York Post
If you were a political cartoonist, and you wanted to generate controversy, what is something you would think to do if you had no moral qualms about it? DO something vaguely racial about Barack Obama...duh
It's like that Vogue cover or whatever it was with Lebron James that made him look like a gorilla, or that Vanity Fair cover with Obama and Michelle lookin' like radicals and bumpin' fists. It was deliberately controversial to get free marketing
