I love that clip TYT showed of Cenk shouting at the newspapers.

I think Cenk was completely friggin' right. The mainstream media has completely destroyed the American mind in the last many years by being pompous lazy arses who didn't care a whit about journalism. It doesn't get any better when some Republicans are lying their arses off to manipulate everyone and everything for WHATEVER it is they want. Hell, I don't CARE what they want, I don't care if it's destroying the lower class or saving the bloody world, they are NOT real, honest people who deserve ANY kind of power, and if the mainstream media can't pick out the radical, dishonest, ideologically fanatical Republicans from the true conservatives, they damned well deserve getting yelled at. And thank the GODS we have a man like Cenk. Thank the friggin' gods.

Well obviously many people do but i couldnt give a damn what the media does.  I hardly ever watch tv anymore and i find the only use for my tv is to collect dust.  I can do everything and more on my comp.  anyways, i find myself researching things on my own through one of the best tools ever created. Google.  But many people do still watch and depend on news like FOX which i really dont have to explain why it is bad that people watch it.  But the "internet revolution" has begun. A great example of this is the young turks.  Who ever thought some show would start and blow up huge on the internet?  Also, my grandpa made a facebook( on his own and is someone who just started using a comp) and is always updateing his status and playing mob wars.  But this just proves that it probably wont matter what news on television feeds, but more importantly, what will internet feed the people.

tv is for the history and discovery channels (none / 0)
tv and media suck... but history and discovery channels rock... so thats all i watch... but yeah media has always been stupid... always... even back in the day they would spin shit so its more entertaining for the stuid people out there... i say stupid becuase in this day in age if you cant understand whats going on without it being dumbed down and you don't have autism or something like that... thne your just stupid

The thing is, it's not about tv or internet or newspapers, it's about journalistic integrity. If I found out TYT made up shit I'd be pissed out of my mind, but even if they did I'd probably never find out. We have to trust our sources, and we're especially likely to trust the sources we agree with, but when you see the media - any kind of media - lying to people, or see journalists being fed lies, it undermines the entire foundation people have for forming political and intellectual ideas. Even if you and I can trust TYT, there are a lot of people, whose opinions affect our lives, who may or may not be fed misinformation and propaganda. If even one TV station or internet blog lies about or propagates a lie about reality, it's one too bloody much. Because we have to trust SOMEONE - The entire journalistic profession is in question if liars aren't called out and silenced, and then how do we know if anyone knows or tells the truth?
