Obama's Florida Visit

Watching Obama and Crist interact with each other in Obama’s early February visit to Florida, was telling.

There exists a political aura among these two guys in this present dubious atmosphere. They both are experiencing very strong public approval numbers, and both strive to work with both sides of the party. That is not coincidental. Of course everyone that listens to TYT is usually politically sensitive and understands this more than Bill O’Reilly fans for example. But the most alluring and superseding tactic both of these skilled politicians are employing is the oldest trick in a magicians repertoire, which is fool them with the one hand while the other hand does all the work. Quixotic assertions aside these two gentlemen are both cut from the same fabric, and are adept at cold calculated decision making. They are the guys that say they can’t play chess only to beat you in three moves. When I was reading today how the majority of Americans want President Obama to ignore what Republicans are saying and only push his own agenda it became clear just how the criticism he receives at times is prematurely levied. From the left there exist critics who feel Obama has even caved in to Republicans at times, particularly with the stimulus package and tax cuts. What they fail to mention is how he seems to be three or four moves ahead of everyone. Obama is slowly crippling the Republicans political maneuverability by making them seem unreasonable, and self-involved. Obama’s playing the all too eager host to a group of self absorbed politiks. He’s giving them a stage though they lack a palatable act. I wouldn’t be shocked if he had expected this from the onset. He merely should bide his time, because if the latest poll numbers are foreshadowing what elections will be like in 2010, he will have his coveted super majority, and it will be in effect FDR II. History may repeat itself.

If that’s any indication, I think Obama’s and Geithner’s plan to save banks which has been heavily criticized as too vague and too lighthearted, may just be a way to appear as strict capitalists while banks like Citibank and Bank of America essentially bake until ready to be nationalized appearing to force Obama’s hand.
