TYT On MSNBC (How You Can Help)

As you know TYT is going for the newly announced 10pm slot on MSNBC. Here are some easy things you can do to help:

1)-Watch the new youtube clip, rate it 5 stars, leave a comment and then send your email to letters@msnbc.com. And of course work on making your own TYT On MSNBC video.

2)-Click Here to 'Digg' the video for more exposure. If you don't have a DIGG account create one. It's fast and free.

UPDATE: Leave a comment on Cenk's Huffington Post announcement and then DIGG it.

Also, leave a comment if you have more suggestions!

5 Reasons To Choose Cenk:

1)-He's made huge inroads with New Media. The TYT youtube channel reached over 63 million views in 18 months which is astounding for anyone familiar with the format. Cenk would represent an inevitable and invaluable bridge between cable news and the internet.

2)-Building off of #1, Cenk could bring in an untapped, younger demographic. You know, all those young people who got involved this last election aren't necessarily interested in listening to yet another old white guy on TV.

3)-He's had an insanely impressive guest list which includes: Rachel Maddow, Arianna Huffington, Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore, Alan Greenspan, Grover Norquist, Howard Dean, Naomi Klein, John Cusack and way too many others to name. Imagine who he could get on MSNBC?

4)-It would add some diversity. Viewers are ready for change, and that includes the aesthetics/background of their talk show hosts. After all, we did just elect "Barack Hussein Obama".

5)-His style and delivery are very different from both Maddow and KO. And he's proven his tv presence with his stints on CNN-HN, like when he defended Gen. Wesley Clark's McCain comments.

PS---Even if he doesn't get the job, this resume should be MORE than enough to give him a platform as a guest pundit on existing shows.

If MSNBC needs another host, they better find a moderate to Conservative to fill the slot - TYT isn't going to be TV friendly in my opinion. I have emailed MSNBC and recommended the slot for TYT, but really, Tom, the show has been lacking in quality for a while now, and that won't translate to TV success. Plus, CNN has already got some middle eastern guy named Fareed Zakaria on the tube, so why would the networks want another Middle Eastern sounding name on their rosters? - Isn't it enough that we just elected a guy named "Hussein" to the Office of President??? Jesus Christ, when is enough enough for you people!!! ;)

I'm going to pretend that the wink face yout put at the end wiped out anything I didn't like about your comment.

Has bobo yet to say something positive? Just wondering. I fear for his health. And yet he voted the right way. He's a secret admirer of Cenk and he just can't admit it.

When's the last time you actually watched the show anyway?

Nay saying punkass...  Ken would be ashamed of you.

I'm more curious about Ken watching the show since he's more to the right than Bobo.

Maybe he watches the web stream with the volume down while Rush plays on the radio? That would explain a lot.

Just what we need bobo , more "conservative" opinion. Here Cenk , how to deal with "critics" that lack in quality like bobo

Impress the bigwigs at MSNBC by alientating 50% of the voting population while squashing all forms of debate amongst friends! Take note MSNBC - This is your TYT fan base! Do you think they are an audience your ADVERTISERS want? If you want the show to make the big time TYT forum members, you better start using your brain and think like TV bigwigs do! :)

and Maddow.  Go figure.  Fox sure does alienate a lot of people, and they seem to be doing okay ratings wise.

I'll restate the question I've been asking you for what feels like a fucking lifetime; if you don't like the show, and don't support the show, and don't even watch the show, and don't want the show to succeed, then why the fuck are you here?  Is the menial, simple-minded, easily rebutted crap that you post really that enjoyable of a way to spend your valuable time?

I really just don't get it.  The thing that draws the rest of us to the site is our love of the show.  What's the thing that draws you here?  Other than the taste of Ken's penis I mean...

To whom it may concern, My name is ... and I am writing you from the West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona. I am writing to ask you to please consider Cenk Ugyur from The Young Turks to fill your recently opening 10PM time slot. I am a regular participant of the TYT forum, usually referred to as a conservative "Troll". My call sign is "bobo1". Even though I disagree with many of the forum's participants on several social/political issues, the fact remains that the show and its weaving of pop culture, internet savvy and acceptance (by most) keeps me coming back for more. Cenk, the host, is not a true Blue Blood Liberal like your other hosts Ms. Maddow or Mr. Olbermann, but I fear if you move your viewer base further to the left, you will marginalize yourself as your competitor Fox News has. TYT will follow your pattern of left "leaning" programming without turning it into a hippie cockroach lovefest filled with Liberal "fellatio" of the current administration. Mr. Ugyur will support your overall goals without pushing you off the deep end with your advertisers. Thank you for considering TYT and its format for your timeslot. I would suggest allowing Mr. Ugyur some time on my favorite show of yours, Morning Joe. I believe the audience would do well to experiencw him as we at TYT have!

I just want to say good luck to Cenk and the TYT crew on getting into MSNBC or at least get some recognition in the process.  I'm fairly new to TYT but I just want to thank you guys for the good work that you've done.  I will support you guys 100% in trying to climb up the media ladder because I feel your work is a valueable asset to the American public and the new generation of Americans who wants to be informed and wants their voice be heard and I feel you guys have done a better job than anyone else.  I have no doubts you guys will absolutely move up the ladder eventually, but I hope when that happen you'll continue to keep it real.

I just got totally schmoopie papoopie reading the three full solid days of Cenk-love postings on here. What an amazing group of viewers TYT has. MSNBC will have to take notice--there is no way they can ignore the number of people who have taken the time to explain just why Cenk is the best man for the job. Competition? There is no competition on their list. I laugh at their list!

by desertpear on 02/03/2009 01:25:27 AM EST

You missed being hilarious by *this* much.  If only you had written "I laugh out of my ass at their list" instead.

So close, yet so far...

I really hope Cenk mentions how much time/work you've been putting into the fight to get TYT the time slot.
