Putting TYT on MSNBC letters
posted by RexT42
Hey all, just though I would post my letter that I sent to MSNBC on behalf of TYT here for people to read. I thought it might be fun to for everyone to share their letters/emails/etc. If nothing else, it will give people who have not yet written anything some ideas on how to write their own. Here goes:
Hello, I just wanted to write this letter to encourage MSNBC to give its newly open time slot to the fine men and women of The Young Turks. I have been a subscriber of TYT for quite a while now and would love to see them branch out into other media. Adding TYT to your normal line-up would not only be a fantastic opportunity for them, but would also represent a chance for MSNBC to profit by taking advantage of the current political climate.
If the election of Barack Obama has taught us nothing else, we can take away the knowledge that the American people are tired of the partisan rancor that dominates modern political discourse. We have grown weary of the trite and empty rhetoric of the language of politics and seek answers to our problems that aren't burdened by political maneuvering, particularly in times of economic hardship.
Given this political environment, adding TYT is both timely and apropos as they have held to this philosophy of candidness since before it was fashionable to do so. Cenk Uygur in particular is not afraid to call out figures on both sides of the political aisle while still maintaining a strong progressive view point.
In summation, bipartisanship is the new political buzzword and MSNBC stands to gain tremendously from tapping into this new spirit of honesty and political transparency; and to be blunt, nobody keeps it real like Cenk Uygur.
Sincerely,
Evan Tyran, a guy who will be watching a lot more MSNBC once TYT joins on.
