NO ONE could have seen THIS coming (except people with even half a brain)

Drug smugglers successfully build ramps to jump border fence

Highlights: ...where the 600 miles of fencing are already up, along the borders of California, Arizona and New Mexico, "smugglers and illegal immigrants continue to breach the fencing that is up, forcing Border Patrol agents and contractors to return again and again for repairs. The smugglers build ramps to drive over fencing, dig tunnels under it, or use blow torches to slice through. They cut down metal posts used as vehicle barriers and replace them with dummy posts, made from cardboard."

Staunch advocates of the fence admit that it doesn't stop illegal crossings.

High-Larry-Us! Was there any expectation of a different outcome to this tremendous waste of time, energy, and money?

Another Conservative "feel good" piece of Pork exposed for what it is - a ridiculous waste.

Just like "abstinence only" education, eh?

That seems to be the RWnut trend. Overreact, overreach and fail miserably.

Wow, now they're illegal...TO THE EXTREME!

But look at the bright side. Domestic sales of "EXTREME!" products like Mountain Dew will skyrocket.

Then it must be a conservative solution.

The cost of building and maintaining a double set of steel fences along 700 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border could be five to 25 times greater than congressional leaders forecast last year, or as much as $49 billion over the expected 25-year life span of the fence, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

See there's your problem right there. With the fundamentals of the economy being so sound and the surpluses the Federal Government has at its disposal obviously silly liberals have underfunded this important project.

I know they told us it would cost a mere $2.2 Billion, but after all it was liberals holding up the funds and the poor, meek, fiscally responsible conservatives had to do with what they could get.

What we need to do is get serious about this and put some REAL MONEY into securing our borders. If we can afford to spend $522 BILLION on the War in Iraq surely we could afford to spend half of that to build a fence.

Now I'm not talking a mamsy pamsy 50 foot fence. After all "Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano once famously quipped that a 50-foot barrier would simply spur the invention of a 51-foot ladder." I'm talking a REAL fence. A 100 ft fence with barbed wire electofied to 100 Quadzillion Volts, (and a couple of Amps just for good measure) and let's see someone invent a 101 foot ladder or rope, and a device that can short out a circuit.

Come on people it's time to get with the program did China care how much The Great Wall cost? Did the French care how much the Maginot Line cost? Without those fortifications who knows what could have befallen those great nations? Okay perhaps those aren't the best examples, but you see my point I'm sure.

Now here's the plan 100 ft double walls, with a trench between them filled with hydrochloric acid, and mutant acid resistant 50 foot long man eating alligators. Every 100 ft a clone of Chuck Norris that has been implanted with a mind control devise controlled by Dick Cheney watching via the latest Star Wars Satelites from his secret location.

Then our country will be safe. Well except for that entire shipping port thing, but I don't think anyone who wants to harm our country knows about that.

They had Chuck Norris clones, and Dick Cheney at the helm, Hadrian would still be keeping feriners at bay.

I'm just trying to be a "REAL AMERICAN" offering "REAL" solutions to "REAL" problems.
