While it's an interesting set of statistics, it won't matter to these people anyway.   The spending and growth statistics over the last three decades are damning as all hell to Republican administrations but there's a thousand rationalizations for this.  

The theme is idiotically simple, if it's a good statistic in a Republican administration it demonstrates good governance by the corresponding Republican administration.   If the statistic is negative it is a left over relic of the prior Democratic administration (or the Democratically controlled congress, or senate, blah, blah, blah), however far back you have to go.

Conversely, a good statistic during a Democratic administration is the delayed effect of wise policy in the prior Republican administration (or the current Republican majority congress, senate, blah, blah, blah) while a lousy statistic is a clear indication of the failed policies of the current Democratic administration. 

It is not and never has been about facts with these people.   They want it their way on their terms and fuck everyone else, even if it means everyone else is, well, you know... fucked.
