Swine Flu

To all TYT members. There has been a recent outbreak of swine flu in Meixco and the U.S. Swine flu is like the regular flu for pigs and it was only thought that it could be spead through contacts with pigs.

However within recent weeks there has been a 1000 or more cases of a new strain of swine flu in Mexico. This new strain seems to be contagious and doesn't require contact with pigs.

&am p;nb sp;    Today there is a report of 75 students in NY that have been infected.

This new case is a never-before-seen mixture of viruses typical among pigs, birds and humans. The influenza A H1N1 virus contains DNA typical to avian, swine and human viruses, including elements from European and Asian swine viruses.

Although it's called swine flu, this new strain is not infecting pigs and has never been seen in pigs. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food; you cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products.

Symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of our regular flu: sudden onset of fever, coughing, aches and pains, and extreme fatigue. Swine flu appears to cause diarrhea and vomiting, symptoms that are not usually found in regular flu in adults.

However inflection can be slowed. The virus from the most recent U.S. swine flu cases appeared to be resistant to amantadine and rimantadine but were susceptible to zanamivir and oseltamivir (Tamiflu).

Also please wash your hands. Cover your mouths and avoid contact with sick ppl. Also if you have a normal cold virus it is HIGHLY recommended that you immediately go to the doctor. Especially in the areas of Texas, Colorado, NY, California and San Antonio where recent cases have popped up. People have died from this infection and TREATMENT IS MANDATORY.

Take care  TYT ARMY and stay Healthy.

&nb sp;     Ur right u should fear it. There is absolutly 100% reason to fear it b/c it is fatal. Also I created this article so ppl can be aware incase of spreading. Also I sincerly doubt you never heard about the previous swine flu epidemic in 1976 in Fort Dixie where 40 million ppl had to be vaccinated. I didnt create this blog to cause fear. I created this blog for awareness.

"Ur right u should fear it. There is absolutly 100% reason to fear it b/c it is fatal."

Swine flu is just another form of the flu, aka influenza.  It will not normally kill an otherwise healthy person.  Just make you feel like crap for a couple weeks.

Why don't you let the health experts handle the dissemination of information. This post is not helpful.

Ur right...I sorry for that comment but there are various cases where it kills example Mexico and 2 cases in the U.S so far. However whats fascinating is how fast swine flu  evolved. From from contact with pigs to a new strain that previous medications can't cure.

"24 April 2009 - The United States Government has reported seven confirmed human cases of Swine Influenza A/H1N1 in the USA (five in California and two in Texas) and nine suspect cases. All seven confirmed cases had mild Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), with only one requiring brief hospitalization. No deaths have been reported. "

Also, the "evolution" of this flu is not highly unusual, this ability to recombine with other strains has been known about for some time.

And, it is a virus, therefore I don't know what the heck you are talking about "previous medications can't cure"?

There are drugs like Tamiflu that can shorten the duration of illness, but Influenza has a rapid mutation rate, therefore drugs that are used widely in the population often become ineffective quickly.

When I said  previous meds can't cure i meant the to amantadine and rimantadine cannot cure the recent strand.  Also deaths have been reported in Mexico. I should have clarified that.

The media, politicians, and people in general LOVE to whip up fear and paranoia. This usually does NOT lead to anything productive.

If you can recall the avian bird flu, panic allowed our government to squander away billions to produce and store a vaccine that will never get used. Realistically, a person is about 300 times more likely  to get struck by lightning than to contract a deadly Avian or Swine Flue virus (no joke).

The threat of a pandemic hitting the population is real but also unavoidable. However, it is unrealistic to believe that by reacting to every "new strain" of flu and throwing money at it, or even washing your hand an extra time will reduce the chances of it happening or better prepare us for it at all. A common staff infection ,often contracted in hospitals, will result in several 10s of thousands of deaths every year. To ignore something as real and deadly as that in favor some something "exotic" like the swine flu strain which is less likely to strike you than lightning (seriously), is ridiculous.

This never happened until we stopped torturing Arabs!
Now, we'll probably have to start ducking witches as well.

Here is an interesting article in the huffington post on how republicans nixed funding for "pandemic preparedness".

http://www.huffingtonpost.c om/2009/04/27/gop-stripped- flu-pandemic_n_191732.html

Being prepared for another pandemic was not something the Bush administration was interested in either, even when the Avian flu scare hit. Instead of deciding to equip the scientists and CDC with the tools to react to any potential pandemic, they spent billions on drug companies to make a vaccine that has never been used and will most likely never be used. I'm just hoping that the swine flu wont scare us into making the same mistake again.

and in this case nature herself work that way, I'm afraid... As long as there is money gained fear-mongering it will be done by all who profit.

I don't quite understand why CDC or any other government agency cannot produce the vaccines by themselves in those $multi-billion subterranean complexes. Seems pretty pedestrian to me... But then again I don't get the free market myths. I guess if there is a demand for a certain flu vaccine it will be produced or something along those lines... who needs to plan ahead then?

Here is a quote from representative Susan Collins' (R-Maine) website bragging about her objections to portions of the stimulus bill:

"After meeting with Mr. Obama, Sen. Collins expressed concern about a number of spending provisions, including $780 million for pandemic-flu preparedness. "I have no doubt that the president is willing to negotiate in good faith, that he wants to have a bipartisan bill," Sen. Collins said.  "

Here idea of "bipartisanship" is being allowed to strip spending for important emergency programs out of the stimulus bill.  She could get together with Jindal and strip out volcano monitoring I suppose.  If not for Katrina I have no doubt we'd be seeing some other ones with tailored suits and flat asses out there opposing hurricane preparedness (picture Jindal going "but-but-but we actually have hurricanes in Louisiana!").  They come from the same line of great thinkers that stripped levie improvements out of the Corp of Engineers budget for all of those years leading up to Katrina and thought sending the Louisiana national guard to Iraq was a great idea.

Don't forget that these sages now tell us that global warming is a hoax, a non-issue that we don't have to prepare for or attempt to prevent.  Heck, it'll be a good thing!

Everyone needs to check out this link. I dont know the validity this theory. But I've learned not to prejudge things considered conspiracy theories.

Here's a snippet of one of the original articles breaking the story about an incident involving the Baxter International drug company.

"Vaccines as Biological Weapons? by Mike Adams the Health Ranger

But there's a bigger question in all this:

How could this company have accidentally mixed LIVE avian flu viruses (both H5N1 and H3N2, the human form) in this vaccine material?

Was the viral contamination intentional?

The shocking answer is that this couldn't have been an accident. Why? Because Baxter International adheres to something called BSL3 (Biosafety Level 3) - a set of laboratory safety protocols that prevent the cross-contamination of materials.

As explained on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wik i/Biosafety_level#Biosafety _level_3):

"Laboratory personnel have specific training in handling pathogenic and potentially lethal agents, and are supervised by competent scientists who are experienced in working with these agents. This is considered a neutral or warm zone. All procedures involving the manipulation of infectious materials are conducted within biological safety cabinets or other physical containment devices, or by personnel wearing appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment. The laboratory has special engineering and design features."

Vaccines as Biological Weapons? Live Avian Flu Virus Placed in Baxter Vaccine Materials Sent to 18 Countries by Mike Adams the Health Ranger......"

Doesn't this bother any of you?
