Am I crazy?

I kinda feel like a weirdo but am I the only person in the world who hates these social networking sites and twitter?

I just can bring myself to give a rats ass about what you ate for dinner

Facebook played a crucial role in planning my wedding. Twitter plays a crucial role in nothing.

I have a myspace and facebook account... but I mainly use those for just staying in contact with friends from a long distance...  Twitter, I have a twitter account just because I wanted to see what the fuss is.  Let's just say I absolutely don't get it.  Twitter is so stupid, I don't care that you just ate a sandwich or that you just saw the face of Jesus (Godoy :-) in a cloud.

I can't stand sites like myspace and facebook where you have to condense your life and personality into short blirbs, an assortment of photos, and accumulate friend requests like token scout badges. LinkedIn is at least understandable as a business networking space.

For example, I just posted a diary on TYT, sent out a tweet, and got instant feed back from one of the sources letting me know that there was a critical update coming up in about hour. I'm sure if I wrote in email, I would of never got such a quick response and now I know to go to the PO Box early so I can catch the show live during lunch and enjoy Sam's ambush of Ken Pittman.

My roommate has the same feelings as you, and I refuse to talk anything about myspace/facebook/twitter until he gets an account and it pisses him off even more.

I don't hate them. I have a myspace and facebook account. I'm not a goofball about it like some people are. I don't get on there and tell all of my business. I like to blog, so I do some blogging on myspace. I'm also single, so I like to flirt with the ladies. I don't get carried away with it and take all of the silly quizzes and participate in all of the apps answering all kinds of dumb questions. I have a life.

No.  Solidarity!  We should form a group for people like us  who hate social networking.

I'd like to join, could you im or email or tweet me with updates on the group?

Whatever you do, don't click this link (studies show you're more likely if you shouldn't)

On the contrary, I get mad at people who make fun of Twitter and say it sucks because you don't care what somebody had for lunch.  If somebody uses Twitter to post stupid stuff, then the problem is the content that person is posting. If that person posts crap you are not interested in, stop following that person.  Twitter is not the problem.  If I were following friends on Twitter and they posted interesting observations throughout the day, I would find that worthwhile.  I support Twitter.  I also like Facebook, and I just never got into MySpace and I hear it's now a thing of the past anyway.
