Michael Jackson had a skin disease called Vitiligo that caused his skin to get lighter in blotches. So instead of having these blotches of skin he decided to just get it over with. He didn't make himself white on purpose.

I thought this was common knowledge but ya, heres the link to the NYT article where he explained, it also has statements from his dermatologist explaining the condition.  You can read more on the skin pigmentation condition on google.

Basically black people get it, and end up spotted, looking kinda like your classic "milk cow" appearance.   some for Consistancy dye/stain/bleach the rest of their skin so they have a consistant color.... and MJ's skin without makeup looked much diff than what you saw.

I didn't know that, and it explains something for which Jackson was apparently unjustly ridiculed.

Now I'm starting to wonder if he might also have had a disease that caused the cartilage in his nose to decay.

Vitiligo accures in human beings that have melanin in their skin. Not just black people.

You can be Asian, Latino, Indian, BLACK and you can get vitiligo because we have melanin in our skin.

A dominant gene.

Speaking for myself, I've never hated Michael Jackson.  I've especially enjoyed a lot of his music, although I admit not listening to much of his stuff after Thriller.

I have, however, pitied him, been pissed at him, and felt revolted by him, but that was during his days at Neverland, after Thriller.

No, I've never "hated" Jackson, and I've mellowed over time even so.  I just don't care much about him.

but i do think he was sexually mollesting children.   I liked his music, but the guy was Nuttier than a fruit bar....  and its not hate but just common sense, if you DIDNT think something was off about him you need to have your OWN senses checked....

the guy was eternally trying to be a kid,  had Credible evidence at multiple child mollestation charges (that got botched in the case handling and with our Infatuation with Celebrity he was let off, when by most accounts he should of been locked up) guy had a addiction to plastic surgery.

The claims by Michael Jackson and his family that he had vitiligo were just that, claims. Totally BULLSHIT claims. They were claims made in order to explain away his insane desire to look like a fuckiing white woman. And truthfully, if all he'd ever done in his life was be a freakazoid in this way, bleaching his skin like a wacko, surgically altering his face to a degree that doesn't just border on insanity, but was insanity, I wouldn't even have a problem with Michael Jackson. I would think he was crazy, but wouldn't care. The fact he was a fucking sickening, despicable CHILD RAPIST makes me glad he's now burning in hell though.
