President Obama campaigned against 'don't ask don't tell.' I just saw, on MSNBC, that the Supreme Court rejected a challenge to the policy. This is ridiculous. They say that they don't want to risk troop moral/cohesion with a change in the policy. BS!!! This relies on the assumption that the men and women in the military are bigots. I don't believe that. We all know that in this time of our overburdened military, we need anyone willing to serve. The classic example of this is all of the Arabic translators who have been kicked out of the army for being gay. Ridiculous, dangerous and detrimental to national defense.
Another thing I don't understand about this policy: Women serve in the military. How is men and women to serve together any different from adding homosexuals to the mix.
This policy is embarrassing, disgraceful and has been around for far far too long.
I found this clip both inspiring and heartbreaking. Lt. Choi is 100% correct...Love IS worth fighting for.
