Third Way is Way Lost

Does Jill Pike still work for this joke of a "Think Tank"? If she does maybe we need to do a group intervention.

Third Way seems committed to doing the dirty work of the insurance lobby from the "left."

A leaked draft (PDF) of their upcoming policy paper shows that they're not even going for a hyper-incrementalist watering down of the public option--they're trying to kill it.

This group is not "progressive."

Get a job Jill.  Seriously, there's a lot of potential in DC.

Unfortunately, Jill is a true warrior for the Third Way.

Who ever accused them of being "progressive?" They are clearly a Fiscally Conservative group. They are chock full of Clintonites.

They like to pretend that they are moderate Democrats but they are really just old style Republicans.

That's a bad thing?

It depends on the issue.  The bad part about it is that they don't just come out as Republicans

Adam Green is coming after them:
http://openleft.com/diary/1 3684/action-call-third-way- 2027753768-seriously

And if you know Adam, going after Mark Penn is not his thing (but putting crappy campaigners that steal millions and ruin campaigns out of business is).

I would love to quote my favorite parts, but dont want to seem to speak for him.

Now here is my take:
Third Way has quietly peddled republican talking points for the last 5 years. My own theory is that Third Way was founded by Mark Penn and Evan Bayh as a 501c to raise extra campaign money for Bayh's Senate race. Please read this and you will get how I draw this theory:

 http://www.theatlanti c.com/doc/200808u/mark-penn

And the true founder of Third Way, Nancy Penn so gloriously funneled up to 1 million of Democratic party donor money via the DNC convention.

Im sure she donated some of it the DNC or Obama to win our crucial election?

Im not hating on Jill, I would give up EVERYTHING to leave my slowly killing job in IT, testing database software for ANY job in progressive politics, but I would not for a second take a job with Third Way.

Jill for God's sake, go get a job with Podesta/Think Progress, or Huffington Post (reporters are based there), or MSNBC (hardball would love you as a pundit!).
How about the Ed show?

There is ALOT of opportunity in DC and N. Virginia and Maryland and with many years in the political and media business you have, add to that your 5 years on TYT which had you been at the conference last weekend, you would know they are now rockstars, I was getting head nods and high fives from dudes in suits when they saw my TYT shirt :D

Congressmen Periello is a regular listener,  we have found evidence of McCaskill staffers listening in!

Please Jill, move on and tell your boss to give it up and close shop. The progressives have won, and even though the DLC is stepping on our toes every day, they hate Third Way for what Penn did to Hillary.

We love you as much as ever and hate to see such a talent wasted. Maybe you could pull off some connections, get TYT on MSNBC and bring you back on the team? One could only dream!

You put it very eloquently Mr. GP.  Like I've said in the past, I'll support Jill with her decisions, but there comes a point when she needs to realize who she's working for.  I would love to hear her on the show to explain her reasons for working at third way because as you mentioned, personally I'd rather work at McDonald's than that bs "think tank."
