Why So Much Media Is Fabricated

Given I intend for this post to be as frank and concise as possible, I have no reason for an introduction paragraph.

Trotting along.. after I watched Cenk's segment Media Suck at Politicians' Real Motives when Cenk is deriding reporters for pretending to constantly think that our politicians always have the best in mind for us, I envisioned how many adults would probably riot against the news if they actually began challenging the government. That's when the word ADULTS hit me, smack dab in the kisser, because most older people really have this mindset about our country, whereas younger people don't. So the question for a poll dawned on me: do you think if more young people started watching the news and becoming active leaders in challenging the media (via media websites' blogposts and the like), then perhaps they'd give us real news? Answer in the poll. I'm new to TYT, so I'm not really sure where it'll show up..

...of 55, let me just say that I don't like your generalization.  I, too, have little respect for our mainstream media.  Our Constitution gives them special status, by recognizing "the press" in our First Amendment.  But journalism has allowed itself to be swallowed by the corporate behemoths who seek to dominate and control our country.

The answer to the problem is not merely in getting more young people involved in public life, although that would be a wonderful thing.

The solution to the problem is public campaign financing.  I keep telling people, that's where the revolution begins.

Need I remind you that "ADULT" starts at 18 in this country?

The only way "younger" people are going to get real news is to start their own newspapers, radio shows, tv shows, etc.

When Evening Star and I were in the 18 year old range, we didn't have the Internet, which allows young people (and us dinosaurs, too) the ability and means to get truth out.

As far as getting more people of ALL ages to actually be interested in politics, policies, and the like - I think it's an inborn thing. Getting uninterested people involved in politics is harder than herding cats...
